I'm going back
By Lacky, 12/02/09
I stayed at this place in May of 2009 and loved the location, the rooms were clean and well kept. Carrie was great! I went to HB again in July 2009 with my son's family. They wanted to stay at a name brand pricey place so we did. I will not do that again. I'm going back to Sun N Sands. Location is better, didn't have to pay extra for parking, no driving to the beach. Much better choice.

loved every bit

after reading the reviews then checking the rates of other places here along the beach i found this motel to be the best value on the beach by far. this is a motel not a hotel. this place has such an old style charm to it. my room was very clean. the people staying next to us said they usually stay at hilton, hyatts, but found this place to be a well kept secret. so close to the pier and main street. you can cross pch and in seconds and be on the sand or swimming. i will return to this place. the service is great.

Huntington Beach's Best Kept Secret
By Chuck & Anna Marie, 03/31/09
My wife and I had the pleasure of finding this quaint motel right on the beach in Huntington. Carrie was extremely friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location was perfect. We were within walking distance to the pier, shopping and restaurants. It was also very affordable for being on the beach. I highly recommend this gem to anyone that is looking for a beach getaway

Perfect distance from the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/07
I liked how nice the staff was they were very helpful in directing my friend and I to different places to eat and go to. We walked down by all the stores in the downtown area and did some shopping. We got handed a card for a body piercing parlor called Tommy T's and we figured we would check it out. We ended up getting our cartilage pierced and we were very happy with how it turned out. We figured we might as well rest up a little at the motel after that but we stayed up pretty late! I will definitely stay at the Sun 'n' Sands again when we go back out to California. Thanks for everything!

Cant wait to go again
By Christina, 02/19/07
It was right across from the beach, and in good walking distance from Main street. It's cozy and comfortable. My friend and I stayed only 1 night, but wished we could have stayed longer. We are going back in a month and we will definetly be staying there again.

Won't be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/06
If you like hearing everything your fellow guests are saying and doing in the adjacent rooms this is the place for you. Cob webs grace the corner walls, not worth the $139.00 a night.

roach motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/05
I set up a group of my friends to stay here. The first night I killed 6 roaches in my room. When I complained I was moved to a nicer room. Two days into our 4 day stay the owner informed me that I owed him $22 more a night for the nicer room. go figure.

A great view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/04
I was welcomed with friendliness by all the staff i encountered. The rooms were comfortable. The bathroom style was nice but my favorite was that the fridge was cold for my brews and the waves crashed on the beach right across the street.

Sun & Sands Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/04
Excellent location, 4 very short residential blocks to Pier/less than 5 minute walk to the main artery of Huntington nite life. Hotel is older, intimate and very very clean. Satellite TV, walk-in showers. Beyond reasonable rates for location right on PCH and to be able to stare at the Pacific Ocean outside your window. A 5 Star plushy Marriot this is not. A very clean, safe, economical, intimate 25yr old hotel staring at the beach it is. Its cheaper than the Best Western right next door. This is my choice for a weekend beach hotel in Huntington. I walked to the Pier, downtown and on the beach at Midnight. No Worries. Police Station is 3 blocks away. Taco Bell 100 yards away. Management was very friendly and wary of "loud party types". Hope this review helps.
