Close to everything
By ,
Misty Harbor is close to the fun. We were able to ride our bikes to Weirs beach which is only 3 miles away. We kept our boat at Silver Sands Marina across the street. Walked to our boat. Also thought the beach was stunning. Our room seemed to be renoved recently, the carpet and pull out couch were new. Our room had a full size kitchen so we were able to save money and eat in. Our room was not on the beach, but it had a really nice lake view. I wish they had room service! We swam on the beach, but it rained one day so we used the heated indoor pool which was clean.

2-3 star at best

Adequate to sleep in only. Nothing like description on Internet. Wi fi works only part of the time. Patio is considered 2 chairs on curb beside driveway / parking lot. When speaking with receptionist (horrible) , we were issued a could care less attitude. We booked plenty in advance and I think given the worst rooms.Dark, Dismal and stale smelling..Kitchenette / table shoved in corner with a 2 cup coffe maker and microwave..The only good thing is it was less then 500 feet to get up the path to the pavillion. By the way folks almost 200 a night...not a good value during August. Though neighbors said they received a lower price?

Nice Location and Staff
By ,
Stayed during the off season to visit family so we got the lower rate. We rented a motel unit and it was fine as a place to sleep. Bed was comfortable, house keeping did a good job cleaning it every day and restocking. Only real negative was bathroom mirror was so high my wife couldn't even use it. I will consider them again when we return.

Returning Guest and Proud of it!
By ,
I was surprised to read these reviews... my family and I have had two very positive experiences at Misty Harbor and my experience has been that the guests tend to be rude, NOT the staff. Every staff member I've ever come across greets you with a smile. We've stayed twice, once during this past summer and again before the new year this winter. The summertime stay was, I'll admit incredibly hectic, since we booked during a concert at the hall up the road. But the service was flawless both times. The first room was more sparsely decorated than the second and a bit fatigued...but impeccably cleaned. The first room was also bigger and on the lake side of the road, so the view was beautiful! It was such a luxury to have the beach right there for the kids and they loved playing up in the lofted room. Upon check out at the end of our first stay, I was waiting in line to finalize payment for the room and a man was trying to finagle his bill, because his wife had requested to move. The girl behind the desk did as he asked and then the staff moved everything for them! And when I asked what the issue was with the quest, it was that his food had spoiled because they hadn't shut the refridgerator! These quests were so rude, I just couldn't believe it. The room we stayed in the second stay was far and away more decorated and had updated appliances and furniture. I was told by the staff that some of the condo owners take more initiative than others and that the managment is attempting to update all the rooms on property. In comparison, the first bedroom we stayed in had two bedrooms and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. For the second stay, we rented a one bedroom suite and found the size adequate for a family of four. The sofa bed is not meant for anyone over 100lbs, but was perfectly fine for the children. If there were four adults, I would recommend the two bedroom suites. Overall, I highly recommend Misty Harbor and would just like to finish with a story: when we left in the mornings and got back to the room for lunch, the housekeepers had even set up the kids toys in cute displays. One of the days, we came back to find them still tidying up for us...and what could have been an intrusive time was not that at all. I brought my youngest in and laid him down for his nap, and the maids finished up and whispered goodbye. And all I can keep thinking of when I read some of these reviews is that it's all in your expectations...and ATTITUDE!

Ready to Book for Next Year Already
By ,
Me and two friends just got back from our stay at Misty Harbor for Bike Week. I am so happy I didn't let the bad reviews on this and other sites get me down. This place was perfect and we already said is where we will be staying next year for Bike Week. We had a one bedroom suite. Not on the lakeside, but didn't care a bit. The room was more than adequate and comfortable. It was clean and had a living room, bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. As for the comments about a rude staff, I didn't encounter any of them. All were pleasant and helpful and our room received the housekeeping service every day and considering the fact that the resort was pretty much booked entirely due to bike week, I think they did a great job. We even attended the Brooks and Dunn concert at Meadowbrook and it was awesoem to leave the bikes parked at the resort, walk through a path in the trees and be there. No fighting traffic. I don't know what other reviewers who gave such awful reviews were expecting and maybe they truly didn't have a great stay, but I can't think of one thing to complain about. Even though the price was hefty and required a 4 night stay, it was very competive with surronding locations (I called around) and in fact, the best value considering the amenities you get both at the resort and in the room and to stay 3 miles from Weirs Beach where all the action was, I didn't expect to pay much less. Like I said, we'll be there again next year. A really great time and a great place to stay.

We won't be back!

THE ACCOMODATIONS WERE AWFUL. UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS; ADJOINING AND OVERHEAD GUESTS WHO PARTIED ALL NIGHT;NON-FUNCTIONAL TOILET;PLACED IN A ROOM IN A HALF BURNED-DOWN BUILDING; A SOFA BED WHICH MATTRESS TOUCHED THE FLOOR WHEN YOU LAYED ON IT. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH ANY PRICE!

Would definately go back
By ,
THe staff was very kind and helpful and accomodated the needs of my boyfriend and mysef. The rooms were comfortable and clean, albeit not luxurious, but absolutely perfect for a weekend getaway in the lakes region.

Cant Wait To Return
By ,
My Husband and I had a wonderful time at this resort. We rented a 1 bedroom suite with a whirlpool in the room. It was just like home, very clean and the staff was so professional and nice. It is a place people must try.
