Not worth i
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/11
The Inn keeper was just ok, customer service I saw none, the continental breakfast a joke and the bathrooms old and no storage. The whole room and hotel lack character just an inexpensive place to stay if your in Cambria. I don't think we will be returning. On the way out I just left the movie I borrowed and keys on the counter as no one was around. Not my kind of place sorry.

I can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/3/11
I had little expectation for the accommodations in a little town like Cambria. Location was the best I could ask for- so we weighed in on The Burton Inn as our choice for a last minute getaway. Well, I can happily say that this Inn was beyond what I could hope for! The building and surrounding gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The location was better than I hoped as well. I enjoy being able to walk to and from restaurants and shops, but I don't particularly love to stay on the main street and The Burton Inn is exactly that. It is a block away from the main street, but it has acreage behind and to the left giving it a secluded feel. The rooms were a particular fear of mine, I expected dust, aged furnishings, perhaps even a carpet covered toilet seat. Instead I walked into a spacious, clean, modern room with furniture similar to mine at home and a bed I could sleep on for days. The appliances were new and in our living room we even had a kitchenette for wine, etc. On top of the studio sized room, with your stay you also enjoy complimentary wine in the evening, and breakfast in the morning! On top of borrowing from a blockbuster selection of movies in the evening:) My favorite part of the stay was having complimentary wine with the owner in the evening. She was incredibly sweet and helpful and had great tips for day excursions, where to eat, and other 'must-sees'. We had a wonderful night with her and I am incredibly grateful to her for making us feel at home. I look forward to my next stay!

Very bad experience
By Betty-Ann, 11/19/09
We had a reservation for an overnight stay. Suddenly the week before our once-in-a-lifetime Trip, my mother-in-law was ambulanced to the Hospital TWICE and VERY near death - two complete blood transfusions - the hosp recommended we call Hospice! She is still in the hospital (two months now) but Thank God - recovering! In all the confusion that week I suddenly remembered to call The Burton Inn and cancel our overnight stay. I was curtly told it was "too late" and we were charged over $100! Absolutely No Mercy shown on the phone whatsoever by "Terry"

THEY GAVE AWAY OUR ROOM
By Carlye, 9/23/07
We booked "our" room in April. This is a small place, and on their website you can book a particular room. We had stayed here before, so we wanted Room 18, a spacious 2-room suite. When we arrived, we were told that we had been "switched" to Room 21, which is a large room with a living area, but NOT a real suite. We had been in this room for one night previously, and remembered it because it is decorated like a bordello. We decided to look around town and found a room in another hotel (thank God it wasn't the height of tourist season). To add insult to injury, when we went back to the Burton Inn to get our refund, a young couple was there getting the key to "our" room. Some woman with "juicy" on her butt. I guess that's what it takes. They had our phone numbers and e-mail, but didn't bother to tell us about the change. I guess they figured we wouldn't care. They lost us as customers, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about our shabby treatment.

Great location!
By Dennette, 11/27/05
The Burton Drive Inn is in an absolutely fabulous location! You park in their parking lot and then never need your car again, till it's sadly time to leave the beautiful town of Cambria. The rooms are spacious, but decorated in a mixture of college dorm leftovers, yard sale finds and grandma's favorite cast-offs. Very odd decor and furniture layout. But everything is clean. The inn is quiet and well maintained. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "bed and breakfast" as the breakfast was actually a continental breakfast. I usually think of a bed and breakfast as providing a cooked, delicious meal. But we loved our stay. And will probably return to this very same location!

a retreat in town!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/5/04
The Burton Drive Inn is a wonderful retreat right in the heart of Cambria! You can park in their lot while staying there and never have to drive to almost anywhere in town. It is feet from the Sow's Ear, Linn's, Brambles and other fine eateries as well as two of the best gift shops in town: Oliver Twists and Moonstones. The owners are gracious and trying to bring the best of both a bed & breakfast and hotel to their establishment. The building is historic with a library that has woodwork by the craftsman who did Hearst Castle and the property is beautiful. It is quiet and romantic and my wife and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cambria!

An expensive Howard Johnson's
By Emily, 10/1/04
This inn is a lot more like a motel in terms of service and amenities. The owners' attitudes were indifferent at best. The rooms are good-sized but look as though very little thought--or effort--went into decorating them. The "continental breakfast" was two cold muffins, mini tubes of cream cheese, concentrated oj and a piece or two of fruit--left in the mini-fridge in our room. If this were a much cheaper hotel, the lack of service and amenities would be expected. For the expense, though, this place is just not worthwhile.
