Avoid

Our room looked as if someone had trashed it not long before. It was also one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I've seen in my life (although it was supposedly cleaned every day) and when you stepped into the shower, you were lucky not to slide on the grime accumulated on the floor. Touching shower walls was risky, with hair and who knows what firmly stuck to the walls. Carpet looked like a haphazardly washed up murder scene.
In addition, we were handed a key to what was supposed to be a room in a quiet part of the hotel, only to be woken up at 8.30am by a hammering noise right above us. When we complained, the supervisor/manager literally laughed at our faces and gave us a discount of 10% for the LAST night only (we stayed the total of 7 nights).
Most of the reception staff were friendly though, felt a bit sorry for them working at that dump. Lille itself is a wonderful place to visit, just pick another hotel.
