ME Cabo, Cabo San Lucas

So, the usual hotel my family went to is being turned into condos sadly. Thus, we were in search of a new one. I had seen the ME before while walking and we decided to try it out. It had a nice view, wonderful cabanas and the suites we rented had private hot tubs, a wii, an ipod adapter and 40 inch LCD screens. They were clean, water in the shower was hot and even though we were on the ground floor I thought it was going to be the best trip ever. But even with all these great things in the room it was not acceptable for what they did to us. So one day Im sitting on my deck at nighttime at 2 or 3 am with my father. A friend and I had just gotten back from clubbing so i decided to go visit my parents while she slept. The deck had a curtain around it which we had partially closed cause my father said that when he was out there at night he felt odd cause he thought the staff would pass by and stare at him for no reason - just watch whatever he was doing (it was almost to dark to tell if someone was there). We both just disregarded as curiosity. Eventually my dad went inside while i sat a bit longer. I pulled back the curtain a bit and looked around my balcony. Eventually I heard some staff pass by and looked up to find two men staring at me, talking about me while i was on my balcony i paid for. After 20 minutes without them leaving it made me very nervous so I went inside and told my father. He told me not to worry and if it made me nervous that i should just stay inside, so i did. After a few minutes i figured the two would of left and i would have free range again. I went up to window and looked outside. They were still there, but this time they weren't just staring where I was, they came up to my window and tried to look inside my hotel room!!! We were shocked and happy we were leaving soon. If being stalked and watched by your very own staff isn't bad enough I can do you one better. So, were getting ready to leave. All in all we had a couple candy bars from the mini bar, some cokes adn waters, and I think a can of nuts. At most it should of come to $100 (you know hoe expensive the mini bars can be) Anyways, so we go to check out and they hit us with this $2000 mini bar bill!!!! We protested and when we went down to show them what we ate ALL THE FOOD WAS GONE. While we went to check out, the staff came into our room and took all our food so we would be stuck with a huge bill. DONT STAY HERE - YOU WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP, YOUR VACATION - EVERYTHING!

After booking the hotel THEN reading reviews i got a little nervous, but mostly they were wrong. Hotel was beautiful, my wife and i stayed in a corner oceanfront suite. Great room with an even better view, we had a king size bed, L shaped couch, plasma tv, ipod and a huge balcony with 2 lounge chairs, 4 regular chairs and 3 tables. Hotel staff waited on you hand and foot, cleaning the room twice a day. The pool was great with tons of cabana's, now the cabana's filled quickley but if you got one at a normal time it was yours all day, if you woke up at 2:oo in the afternoon then of course you were not getting one. The hotel was right on the Playa medano and it was beautiful, we stayed during spring break and the crowds were not too rowdy. The food at the hotel was great but very expensive, we spent aroud 1200 on food for the 6 days we were there. I would definately reccomend this hotel to people and will return.

What we liked about ME was the spectacular view, until the hundreds of boats and cruise ships arrived. The cabana boys at the resort fill the pool area with people off the expensive yahts and comp their drinks and food, while those actually staying at this hotel pay a hight price for such items. They fill the remaining cabans with personal friends. Beach walking is impossibe because of the hundreds of pushy people selling t shirts and jewelry every minute of the day. Food is expensive and poor quality.The music goes until all hours and surround each room, rendering sleep impossible until after 3 or 4 AM in each of the rooms. It is a party hotel within close approximity to a ONCE, beautiful paradise that has been overrun by greed and spoiled rich 20 somethings from LA. Our bed was rock hard and we were charged for items in our room that we did not take. No offer was made to correct these errors at checkout. Never again, Cabo or ME.

First the good points, room was clean and kept that way, housekeeping and wait staff very nice and did good job. View from hotel is beautiful. Multiple things wrong with room from short circuit in wall switches which would sometimes work and some times not, to overflowing toliets. There is a "anything you want, anytime you want it" button on phone. This is what the button says. Well couldnt get light bulb changed and never got answered after 40 rings when toliet overflowed. Music at nightclub is so loud that even with the ear plugs they provide you, you cant sleep. Prices for food are reasonable BUT for drinks, forget it. Around $5 (USD) a bottle for water or soda, and it was $11 (USD) for a Bailey's on the rocks. NOT a family hotel, more suited for young couples or young at heart.

I didn't really like very much about Me other than that I was there to spend time with great friends. Had I been there on my own I would have left after the first night and found another hotel. My room had an overpowering smell that made me sick, plumbing that didn't work properly and my favorite ring went missing in my room. The staff was friendly but not at all helpful. It took far too long to get the smell in my room taken care of and the other plumbing issues never got addressed. The person who called to check that my room was alright offered to fix me up with some Mexican men, rather than send someone to take care of the problems in the room I had told her about. Overall, the ME is terrible value for the money you spend to be there. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The ME was Awesome !! I liked the Location !! The Staff was Friendly and Fun !! The Resort was Gorgeous, esp at night !! The Rooms were Beautiful with Breathtaking Views !! The beach was Fun, with lots of things going on !! Easy walk to town !! Drinks were Premium and Food was always good !! Perfect size Resort, not to big , or to small !! Dislikes : Absolutley Nothing !!

Location, location, location. You can't find a hotel with these amenities with a better location - if you want to enjoy Cabo. If you're looking to relax in a peaceful environment, go elsewhere. The Melia was a perfect honeymoon location with sun, beach, pools, walk to town, walk to marina, etc. Service was excellent throughout our 10 day stay.

What a great get away with a fun and wild group of people. great service, food and sun...didn't want to leave! The night life is hopping and Me is hip to cabo..lots of great people to mingle with

The hotel was very South Beach and trendy. The rennovations are complete and the hotel is immaculate. Plasmas or LCD's in ever room and marble floors... we even had a nintendo Wii in our room. We just finished our Honeymoon there and do not have a single complaint... well except it was a little pricey. Overall the spa and food services were great. The care the staff was gave exceptional. Management called just to see how we were 2 times during our week stay. The "everything is possible" service is great. Its more of a party area than we would have thought and Melia is in the perfect location. The age group was mostly 25+ probably b/c of cost and we only saw 3-4 kids the whole trip. IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS- These people must have been somewhere else, or are just not able to be pleased. Things to keep in mind- they play music by the pool all day, and I think some nights, too- so it is not "tranquil" or very quiet, but who goes to Cabo for quiet? I don't specifically recall being bothered by the music in our room, even with balcony door open. Also, right now there is construction next door, so you might hear sounds throught the day from the new hotel being built but they can't help that... I live near Miami and have stayed in some of the hotspots and this was equal if not better. RATING 5 STARS- LOVED MY STAY THERE!!!! (wife and I age demographic = 25-30)

i liked it because me and my husband had a great time there and we hope to visit on our anniversary. We really thought it was a romantic place and we're happy we chose this hotel for our honeymoon
