Holiday Inn Express Vancouver, Vancouver

This is a nice hotel with a great staff. With just a few minor improvements it could be really great. Dislikes: getting to the lobby from the rooms is way too convoluted. "gym" needs updating NOW. There were 2 treadmills, one bike machine that didnt work, and a weight machine left over from the 80s. Parking is "public" and with a hotel of this size, they should have their own, especially when you know downtown Vancouver is horrible for parking. I'd stay here again. Its CLEAN! IF youre into downtown experience, THIS is the bomb!

The hotel is in pretty good condition, although the neighborhood is not top notch. I walked several blocks from the hotel and felt perfectly safe. The Hotel Staff was excellent. We had a great shuttle driver (actually 3 different drivers) who were all very friendly and informative. The night manager was so helpful and informative. There is really nothing to do in this area, but we stayed here since it was so close to the cruise ship and offered a free shuttle to the ships. There are several good places to eat within blocks of the hotel with all types of food choices and prices.

We really liked the bus service outside of the hotel. It was very convenient to Gastown and the city. In fact the bus service throught the city is fantastic. We used it a lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, the room was clean with the exception of a badly stained carpet. The continental breakfast was average. Call before you leave home to reserve hotel shuttle service to pick you up at airport. You can reserve hotel shuttle at the front deck during your stay. Nighttime entertainment and dining by the hotel is very, very limited. Mel the shuttle bus driver was very friendly and informative. It was a pleasure to have met him. A nice man. We loved Vancouver.
