value for money

clean, comfortable, reasonable staff employees. parking spaces are tight. the complimentary breakfast can't be beat, way above the standard donut and coffee. dissappointments??? free bottle of water on desk, but read the attached label first. it says bottle is provided as a service to guests. a charge will be billed to your room if consumed. $2.99 plus tax. some service. sliding window did not close tightly, made things cool during late february. also the room directory, in two places, clearly states free newspaper delivered to your door or available at front desk. I went to front desk to ask for paper, he said to go out to the gas staion at the corner, there is a box there. otherwise, i have no problem with the place, certainly a reasonable price for downtown toronto. if i'm downtown again and need a room, i'd go back.

We would recommend it.

The staff was extremely polite and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was great- eggs, bacon, bagels, fresh fruit,muffins,juice... It is conveniently located so we did not have to take the car out much at all. The down side is no pool and the rooms are alittle on the small side.

No thanks

Clean hotel, staff polite and helpful, excellent breakfast. The position is good for central Toronto - that is if you want to face a barrage of beggars every time you leave or return to the Hotel. We were apprehensive to be leaving the Hotel after dust (to eat for example). The hotel is directly opposite a salvation army sleepover. One beggar followed us almost into the Hotel (no security). Give this hotel a miss!! No safe service available.

Terrible service!
By ,
We stayed there two nights and not once did they change our sheets, clean the bathroom, empty the garbages...NOTHING! It was disgusting- the garbages were full to the rim, we never got any new towels- I was truly disgusted. We called the front desk and requested housekeeping so many times and they kept promising us they would come. To top it off I also had someone from their staff give me the wrong total for my stay and tried to overcharge me! I did not want to pay them a cent!!!!!! TERRIBLE, AND NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE!

Insufficient parking even when promised a spot. Staff did not seem to care about inconvenience. Felt that we were a nuisance to staff as opposed to guests

Not bad, not great.
By ,
The location's pretty solid. I didn't have any problems walking around by myself at night, and it's within walking distance to a lot of Toronto's main attractions (Air Canada Center, Hockey Hall of Fame, etc.) The service was pretty good - they got me in the place two hours before check-in without a reservation, so that was appreciated. Free breakfast also a plus. I stayed there over a month ago, and I think I'm still pissed they didn't have a pool, though. It's a hotel in the middle of the city, I know...but still, a pool would have been great.

No Frills! OK!
By ,
You get what you pay for. This place lives up to the very basic expectations. They do not try to go any further than they have to. The front desk service might as well be robots. If you have a vehicle make sure its under 6ft tall because there garage is underground and vans and tal suv's wont fit. The Hotel recommended I park in a suspicious parking lot about a block down the street from the hotel. The lot keeper actually told me to make sure I get my valubles from the car because windows do get broken!!! Also worth noting that within the 1 block distance from the undesirable parking lot to the hotel I passed 4 homeless people, 2 of which aproached my wife and I for handouts!!! I guess that more of a Toronto issue than it is a hotel issue, right?. The free breakfast is small and crowded, foods OK. The room was small but OK! I would not return here! Good luck to those who do!

what i think
By ,
well overall i had a good time in toronto and the hotel was very nice and clean. how ever did not like the service i was recieving. I hate saying this because it is a nice hotel, but the people at the front Desk were very rude. Not by word but by there actions and speach. for example, by there tone of voice. They did not act as if i was there, ignoring me, as well as not actnoliging the guest coming in and out of the hotel, for example, there was no contact between and from the emplyee's too the guest. Like "hello good morning/afternoon" etc. or "how are you today". I work in sales to so i know it is important too make sure the guest is appreciated. I will still stay at this hotel in the future. Only because of the area, and the hotel itself. I hope the employee's consitered what i said, cause guest do appriate the quilty of the service. thank you

Had a party at this joint!
By ,
It was my gruduation night from University of Toronto last year. The 8 of us wanted to get a penthouse suite in downtown Toronto to celebrate. After calling a few hotels we realised we couldnt afford it until someone recommended Quality Hotel Downtown.

Yeah you'll be surprised. The penthouse suites are nothing fancy but it does the trick. A nice living room and 2 bedrooms. One bedroom even had a huge heart-shaped tub that was just SSOO 80s but excellent for the occasion.

We had like 20 people over and we just partied the night away and extremely glad we only paid $120 for such a nice penthouse. But remember not to expect anything fancy schmancy like W. Just expect a nice clean large space for a low-pro party. I dont even remember sleeping that night so I cant tell you how comfortable the beds were.

It's probably a good idea for a large family traveling today to get this room too since it can fit about 8-10 people.

Location is GREAT. It's a 10 min walk to Eaton center and very close to subway stations.

One bad thing is that you need a key to get into the elevator so when guests come, you actually have to go downstairs to pick them up.

Other than that, partytime!!!
