first class
By Larry, 4/1/12
This place was clean, and the owners polite and professional. $40 included tax for a single. The woman. Deborah, who was surprised she couldn't show up at 9pm and have her room waiting obviously hasn't been in the motel business before. If you want a reservation held that late, you need to "pay" in advance.

Nice, clean and quiet place to stay &Great price!
By Jon and Chaleh, 8/11/11
We were looking for a nice place between North Dakota and Gillette, Wy. We read the reviews and decided to take a chance. We were greeted by warm friendly staff, the room was extremely clean and there was plenty of parking for my truck and trailer. This being Bike Week, we could not find a room any closer to Sturgis SD to suit our needs. It is a great place to stop on your way to or from Sturgis while on your bike. We stay in motels about 115 times a year and for the price you can't beat it. We will definately stay here again.

A \"Must Stay\"
By Dusty Ginsbach, 6/24/11
They Lodge is as out-of-the-way as things get in Buffalo. That is to say, you can run across the length of the town in six minutes thirty-seven seconds. Trust me, I did it. However, you can't beat the scenery and people in the area. When staying at the Lodge, you feel like the service extends outside of the hotel and forty miles in any direction. I stay there whenever I come through, irrespective of the time of day. While you're there, take the time to visit the areas of Harding County included in the Custer NATIONAL Forest, which is NOT an extension of Custer State Park, but is just as beautiful and completely free. A word to the wise, your GPS might not get you there.

Hunters paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/10
I like to call the owners before planning my hunting trips to ask them about the weather i might encounter. They are very helpful and freindly with all my questions. the rooms are great, and reasonably priced too. there is not a lot in Buffalo, but there is just enough.

\"Only Motel for 50 Miles\"
By CG, 7/22/09
That's what the manager told me when I stumbled upon this place and decided to get a room. I was driving south and was ready to stop in the previous town, which had 3 or 4 motels, when I thought "Well, the next town should have motels also." "Motel" really. The place is a bit tough to find. You see the billboard on the highway outside of town, but it's actually a block to the west of the highway on a side street. If you look for it, you'll see the neon sign. I've stayed in my fair share of awful, small town road motels, but I can honestly say that this is not one of them. I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, comfortable room with a fridge and microwave (although not initially plugged in) and full cable TV. They also have free wifi, which was nice and a bit unexpected. The interior corridors were also nice. Morning brought bad coffee (although I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to coffee) and some muffins. The management came off as a bit cold and as not the chatty types, but, then again, there was no real reason to chat because everything was fine. The room cost a little under $50, tax included. It was a very good deal and cheaper than the motels in the previous town I had passed through. Buffalo is not much. There's one place to eat, which is also the one place to drink, and there isn't a stop light or stop sign for miles, but it's a friendly little town where everyone waves at you, and this is a good place to stay if you're in the area. Thumbs up...

One of the greatest stays, even compared to top dollar hotels!
By jason, 6/27/06
Absolutely the nicest staff of any hotel/motel. Very clean. For the service you receive, it should be $100 plus. Excelent location, just 1/2 block off the highway. I recomend this hotel to everyone.
