\"Only Motel for 50 Miles\"
That's what the manager told me when I stumbled upon this place and decided to get a room. I was driving south and was ready to stop in the previous town, which had 3 or 4 motels, when I thought "Well, the next town should have motels also." "Motel" really.
The place is a bit tough to find. You see the billboard on the highway outside of town, but it's actually a block to the west of the highway on a side street. If you look for it, you'll see the neon sign.
I've stayed in my fair share of awful, small town road motels, but I can honestly say that this is not one of them. I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, comfortable room with a fridge and microwave (although not initially plugged in) and full cable TV. They also have free wifi, which was nice and a bit unexpected. The interior corridors were also nice.
Morning brought bad coffee (although I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to coffee) and some muffins.
The management came off as a bit cold and as not the chatty types, but, then again, there was no real reason to chat because everything was fine.
The room cost a little under $50, tax included. It was a very good deal and cheaper than the motels in the previous town I had passed through.
Buffalo is not much. There's one place to eat, which is also the one place to drink, and there isn't a stop light or stop sign for miles, but it's a friendly little town where everyone waves at you, and this is a good place to stay if you're in the area.
Thumbs up...
