Red Roof Inn York, York

I recently stayed at this hotel for just one evening and it was far from enjoyable. When I booked this hotel through Yahoo travel, I specifically booked a Non-Smoking room, however when I checked in, I wasn't told by the staff that I was booked into a Smoking room. When I got off on my floor, it was evident that this floor permitted smoking in the rooms, and my room definitely was one of them. When I called the front desk, I was told that they were booked solid and could not move me to another room. Their excuse was that Travelocity sent them bad booking info (which I disagree with...) The only way I made it through the night was by cranking the A/C and purchasing a Renuzit odor killing air freshener at the CVS across the street. The batteries in my TV's remote were dead but the front desk was able to switch it out for a fresh one. The staff was friendly and the room itself was decent for one night but a little over-priced. They had a small breakfast table set up in the morning with coffee, oranges and bagels. As most of the other reviewers mentioned, there's no easy way to get back on to Arsenal Road or I-83 and most of the lights do not permit u-turns. My advice: call them ahead of time to double check your booking if you requested Non-Smoking!!

Was visiting for the weekend and switched to this hotel after a horrible experience at the Super 8 across the street. Staff was decent, pretty friendly. The rooms are clean and it's pretty quiet. My only problem was the price... they jacked up the price to $89.00 a night. Of course I was glad to pay after the problems I had at Super 8, but still! The bathrooms ARE small but the beds are cozy, parking lot is well lit and there is plenty of room to potty your pet. Dog friendly hotel - would stay here again if in the area... just book EARLY! No free internet though, $9.99 per night... I would have thought it could have been included. Elevator smelled a little yicky and they only have a coffee machine in the lobby (with 2 chairs and a TV...) great for a short stay. Rooms had a small fridge and a microwave but no hairdryer or freezer. Like previous poster said, hard to get on Rt. 30, no U turns!!!

The place was clean and relatively new, but the room was cramped and there was no place to sit except on a bed or at the desk. The room was barely large enough to accomodate the beds. The entry is into the lavatory area and lacked a sink and enough room in the bath room to be able to get dressed privately.
