Great location, great value, great hotel
By gef, 2/9/12
We loved the location! We stayed during the week so the noise from the street wasn't a problem. We got a double room for three of us plus my 2 year old. There was plenty of room for us all. It was a reasonable price for the location. The parking was a little pricey, but very convenient.

Close to Bourbon Street
By LSUfan, 7/22/10
Good points: It is one block from Bourbon Street and the cost for the room is reasonable for the value. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bad points: the air conditioner struggled to keep the room cool, which was bad for mid July. The bed was not really that comfortable. My family and I did enjoy our stay and would probably stay again if the opportunity came up. The breakfast was simple, but very good.

1st time in New Orleans
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/09
My wife and I went to New Oreans on a whim. I made a reservation at the ST. Marie not having a clue as to what to expect. The front desk was extremely helpul. I pulled into the parking garage and Simon was a great help to us and was very patient. This guy is over worked and I am sure under paid for what he does. To our suprise it was Decadance week Another shocker to me. However we experiecened one of the best weekends of our lives. Staff was great and took care of all of our needs. Only negative was the hotel did not have a microfridge which would have been a plus. Other that that it was a great stay.. PS Bring your own pillows...

A Definite YES!
By susang71, 8/11/09
Loved this hotel! The staff was extremely courteous, the rooms were clean, the sheets were soft, the bed and pillows were EXCELLENT, and it is located in the heart of the French Quarter! We walked everywhere and had a great time. Even if you can't get a "mind blowing" rate, stay here. (A tip - One of my friends said that if you stop at one of the tourist information booths on IH 10, they often have coupons for great rates and free parking at this or one of its sister hotels in NO.)

Every thing was GREAT!! We had what ever we needed coffee pots in the room,I love to get up in the morning and not have to get dressed to go get coffee. The rooms were very clean. The bath was too.I have stayed at a lot of hotels in New Orleans but this was the BEST. I will stay here again in When we go back in October. Let me not forget the room size and the beds the rooms were spacious and the beds very comforable Mobile,Alabama .

Third times a charm
By Priscilla, 1/9/09
We stayed 1-4 to 1-8-09. This was our 3rd time to N.O. This was our best room & a step away from Bourban St. Very resonable price. The rooms were very clean, staff wonderful. We had a room on the first floor to the right of the parking garage little courtyard right outside our room, you coud hear music from Bourban st. ( at night) but was just cosy & private. Loved it & will stay again.

Wonderful trip to New Orleans
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/09
My husband and I took our first trip to New Orleans in July, 2008. We stayed at the Hotel St. Marie and loved it. The French Quarter was fabulous, although I could only handle Bourbon Street a couple of times. Hotel was quiet, quaint and lovely. Had a great time! Would go back!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!!!!!
By jessica, 7/22/08
My family and I could not have asked for a better location. All of the excitement & action is right at your finger tips! I loved this hotel. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, the pool was nice and refreshing after a long day of walking. The only thing you should not expect is a smiling, friendly front desk clerk. I would not say rude but very snotty. The $25 a night parking fee is a little step as well. Even with those small things, I will definitely be going back, and would recommend to anyone staying in New Orleans.

Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/08
This was our first trip to New Orleans & the French Quarter, so I did a lot of research on hotels. After reading the reviews of the "St. Marie", I decided to go ahead and book it. Either I have very high expectations, or the other travelers were given a room better than ours. There were some (a few) "good points", but our overall experience at this hotel was BAD, BAD, BAD. Good Points: very nice bellman and valet, good location to the French Quarter, easy access to the freeway, nice courtyard BAD Points: where to begin? We arrived (very excited) and checked in at the front desk with a rather unfriendly staff member. After paying for an upgraded "superior" room rate, was quickly disappointed when told that our room would overlook the street (and I'm not talking about charming street) and no other Superior rooms were available. I then suggested that I "downgrade" to a regular room. "Suddenly", a courtyard-view room was available on the 4th floor (top floor). The nice bellman helped us with our luggage to our room and that's when the real fun began. Even with the air conditioner blasting, the room smelled terrible (mildew) and the humidity in there was gross. Everything was wet. To air things out, we opened up the doors to the "balcony". Are you kidding? Couldn't get a chair out there if we tried. Just enough space for 1-2 people to stand. The furniture, although newer, was dark only adding to our misery. I didn't even want to sit on the bed - that bad. We threw ourselves together and headed out for an afternoon in the French Quarter. Much to our dismay, the restaurant which the hotel staff recommended for "families" (Cajun Cabin), was located around the corner, but just beyond three nudie clubs and a dance club with drunks already spilling out (2 p.m. in the afternoon). We returned to the room around 10 p.m. and tried to get some sleep. However, the smell was worse than ever, even with the outside doors open. My daughter's asthma suddenly kicked in and my husband went to the front desk to ask for a change in room. The desk clerk was very nice and mentioned that the staff sometimes "steam cleans the carpets but doesn't let the room dry out." Don't think that room had dried out since Hurricane Katrina. The new room on the 2nd floor was much better and did not seem wet. The next morning, we went downstairs for the complimentary continental breakfast of stale croissants, danish, coffee, and orange juice. Yuck again. Flies buzzing everywhere on the UNCOVERED food and no staff in sight the whole time we were there eating. Couldn't wait to leave that hotel and would not recommend. On another note, got very very sick withing 24 hours of leaving that place (high fever, etc.) and couldn't get out of bed for two days. Coincidence? Perhaps.....
