If we stayed again....
We stayed here for Valentine's Day. For the money, it was an average stay. The rooms were a bit cramped, but suitable for 2 people. Bathroom was so small you couldn't change your mind in it, but the sink was separate from the shower and toilet, so that helped. The fridge had a freezer section which was very handy to cool down our drinks quickly. One room had a very nice LG 32" LCD Flat Panel TV. If you stay here, insist on a room facing the back of the hotel. We were facing the front, right near the canopy for the main entrance. In the early evening, it was quite loud right outside our bedroom window, which included patrons of the hotel as well as traffic. The hotel is situated VERY close to the highway. Also, since it was February in Chicago, it was cold outside, roughly 20's at night, and the windows had poor insulation for not only sound but for the cold. The heavy draperies helped, but when you walked near the windows, you could definitely feel the cold. The living room portion was great for watching tv and having a snack/meal/drinks. You would not be disturbed by the outside noise if sleeping in that room, so I know facing the back of the hotel is the ticket. The rooms were clean, bathroom clean, however the shower head was very loose in the wall, which could mean some serious leakage down the road if the shower pipe is not secured properly. Front desk personnel were friendly. We did not try out the breakfast. The chlorine smell from the pool drifted into the lobby a couple of times while I was waiting for my key. I would go back but would definitely get a room in the back.
