great location/staff not the most knowledgeable
While the location of the La Quinta Norcross was excellent (very close to I-85) and the price was quite reasonable, it wasn't the experience I'm used to from La Quinta. First of all, the front desk had no maps nor any bearing of the Atlanta area/townships. I've never been at a La Quinta that didn't have maps. Also, while room-to-room was fairly soundproof, I could hear every single sound through the door that happened in the hall. A full-fledged dance party was going on in the cluster of suites one cluster down the hall, and if I was anywhere near the door, I could clearly hear the loud music long past 3am. I also heard every person who went down the hall all night. It's unfortunate that with nice soundproofing that avoiding me hearing my next door neighbors, the door area was ignored (which it really needed to be since people do talk in a normal voice as they walk down the hall and it's quite disturbing to a sleeping person) and the party wasn't broken up.
The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spotless. There weren't many restaurants nearby, but being so close to I-85 made that a non-issue.
