Damper on Anniversary weekend
By ,
My husband booked the Haunted tour package for our 28th anniversary. When we arrived the staff was friendly. The porter, Dominque, followed us to our vehicle and waited while we unloaded our baggage. He then lead us to our room and held the doors open while my husband brought our baggage in. When we checked in we were told we could call and confirm our 9pm ghost tour the next day. After spending a great evening wandering River Street, we returned to our room. The remote for the TV would turn it on and off but that was it. We turned the TV off and headed to bed. Once in bed we promptly rolled to the center, worn out mattress, where we slept uncomfortably. The next morning I awoke to make coffee for my husband to give to him in bed. The cleaning staff knocked while I was heading back to dress so I answered the door asked her to come back. she was very polite and left. As I walked by the kitchen, I noticed coffee all over the counter, the lid to the carafe didn't work with that machine, it also had tripped the GFI breaker. We let the front desk know about the coffee pot and remote before leaving for town. We also called a bit later to confirm our ghost tour. We came back to our room to take a short nap before dinner and had a message. we tryed to retreive it on the front room phone, didn't work. used the bedroom phone and was told that the 9 pm ghost tour was full and we would have to go on the 7 pm tour! OK, no problem, they still haven't done anything about the coffee pot and remote and also the phone doesn't work. Was told they would fix the problems. We rushed out so we would not miss our ghost tour, when we returned that evening, nothing had been fixed. We told the staff as we checked out and they got defensive. The porter had plugged the coffee pot into another outlet and it came on. DUH, only GFI outlets have breakers and also, he didn't make coffee so yeah no over flow. The coffee made Sunday before the 2nd overflow and tripped breaker was left for them to see. Today we found we had been recharged for the room and after a huge hassle hopefully have it straightened out. The person I talked to today said they didn't find anything wrong with the room. I hate being called a liar! Maybe they finally fixed it Sunday after the 4th complaint. I wouldn't stay at this hotel or any others ran by this chain if this is an example of their "policies" not provide services then charge twice! Stay elsewhere! I could go on about the view the dirty tub, etc! but don't have enough room on this site.

The wife and i stayed there for our 28th annaversary we booked the Haunted on the river package with a ghost tour included for $389.00 plus tax whitch came to a total of 439.00 the room was nice and clean but the senic view of the river was obscured by the tug boat company directly between the inn and the river the coffee pot the tv channel changer and the living room telephone did not work we informed the staff three times during our stay but they were never replaced or repaired the bed had a big valley in the middle so when you got in you automaticaly rolled to the middle so my wife and i laid on top of each other all night not very relaxing the bath tub darin didnt drain very well we had to completly remove the drain plug to get it to drain the porter was friendly and walked us out to our car after we checked in and watched my wife and i remove our luggage and carry it to our room he was however courtious enough to open both front doors for us as we had our hands full as you may have guessed WE WILL NOT BE STAYING AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN

the best

The Olde Harbour Inn was one of the most pleasant and unexpected surprises on my wife's and my 30-day road trip along the Gulf and through the Deep South. Nothing matched it. Location was great, with the fine park and commerce above and the fun-filled River Street below. The in itself was spacious and clean. And the staff--Dominick and Kenny were the greatest. Don't miss this on your trip.

We loved it!
By ,
Finally a place that was actually better than its website made it look. The Olde Harbour Inn is a beautiful small hotel located close to one end of River Street. This is a great location as it is close to just about everything. We had a suite which featured a separate bedroom, bath, kitchenette, and living room (307). Very clean, and a very comfortable bed. The best thing was the very friendly, personal service. The staff made us feel like we were the only ones there. Very helpful with any request that we had. We will definitely stay there again, as we loved Savannah (our first visit) and we especially loved the Olde Harbour Inn.

GREAT , Beautiful,Place!Super Location
By ,
My husband and I (through a recomdatation) had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights. The staff is very accomidating, seeing to every need. There is one employee by the name of Dominique, a true southern gentleman who could not do enough for you. I hardly saw him go home while we were on our visit. At one point I asked him if he lived there. We wanted to go on this picticular ghost pub tour. It was not one of the known ones in town. Dominique went to so much trouble, calling other hotels and brewerys until he found out that our tour started at the Blue Moon. It was a great tour. All the other pub tours got bad ratings. He brought us ice cream every night. He hosted a free cocktail hour every night, seeing to it that all the drinks and food were replemished and even made sure we had a great parking space. The rooms (all suites) had the true ols Savannah charm. The house-keeping was a little iffy, but not terrible and everything else there out-weighed that imprefection. The free breckfast in the morning was outragous and was held in a spactular dining room. The location was perfect. Right on the river. Every room has a fabulous view of the Mississippi, and all its happenings.. It was very inexpensive, considering what they gave you, and you were treated like you were the only guest there. Would we go back?? In a heartbeat. We only live 7 hours away, and hope we can make another trip there really soon. It was very romantic, and a must see at least once in your life. Thank you Olde Harbor Inn. You made our expierence in Savannah, PERFECT.

Lovely Honeymoon-Location
By ,
The entire suite was at least 700 square feet with a full size couch and refrigerator. The window opened up to a river street view and there were stairs straight down to river street beside the hotel. They had a small breakfast each morning and a wine-cheese reception at night. I loved the location because we could walk to restaurants and almost all of the sights. I would certainly recommend it to you if you guys are going back soon. They even have some rooms with a balcony overlooking the river. I just wanted to let you know that this place with the trees from Forrest Gump is just right outside the city, Wormsloe park. I think it was about $5 to drive down the road, very nice drive. I would recommended a day time trolley tour with Oglethorpe tours to get your bearing before walking around ($10 a person) a night time tour with Ghost's and Gravestones ($25 very informative, mysterious-romantic night time ride through the squares and a spooky walk through a historic haunted house) I would walk through the Pirates House ( Lunch buffet appeared kind of average) walk down to river street at night to check out the cobblestones and the eerie lighting, Savannah is almost more beautiful at night than during the day. I would Eat lunch at Mrs. Wilkes (great family style food-time), dinner at the Pink House (a little pricey but a nice experience make reservations early) Taste the appetizer of fried green tomatoes layered with blue crab salad and topped with cusabi (a creamy, cucumber and wasabi sauce) at Moon river Brewery and eat at the crab shack outside Tybee Island they have live gators and you can dine on the bayou, not to be missed. We also enjoyed a margarita at one eyed lizzy's on river street. I know you will find something exciting to do or see in Savannah and the surrounding area. Have a great time.

Riverviews ?
By ,
Room #203 was actually a basement room that overlooked Moran Towing of Savannah,504 E.River Street(room appeared to be on 1st floor where it overlooked Moran Towing. Bedroom and bathroom were extremely small. Bedroom window looked out at a wall on Factors Walk. Requested another room, shown #403. This was actually a 3rd floor room. Slightly better view but still Moran's. Loft bedroom, not enough room to walk around the bed either at the top or bottom. Two people sharing this room would have to crawl over each other to enter or leave the bed. No bathroom in loft. Riverview from loft completely obstructed. Booked two nights but cancelled the second. Date of stay was June 18,2007. Very disappointed.

Good Location if you like and are able to walk on lots of cobblestones and lots of steps. We parked our car and never moved it for 21/2 days.

Stay somewhere else
By ,
I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Savannah unless there is no other availability at any of the other downtown hotels. We enjoyed the size of the suite and the continental breakfast (they have the best biscuits), but other than that it really was not worth the price they charge. The inn is located on River Street which is by far the loudest and noisiest street in Savannah, especially after dark. We were constantly awakened at all hours of the night by loud, drunken passersby in the street below. Also, the hotel has paper thin walls, and we could hear entire conversations coming from the suite next to us. We have since been back to Savannah and stayed at a much nicer (yet equally priced) historic inn downtown and enjoyed it so much more. This hotel is not worth the money. You should stay at a different hotel in the historic district if you want to make the most of your stay.

Great place to stay
By ,
Got a "romance package" for our first stay in Savannah and the room was lovely...1 bedroom suite w/loft. It was roomy and comfortable but the bathroom was very small. We loved our little iron balcony overlooking the Savannah River, as we like to "people-watch". The nightly bed turn-down, soft rock music playing on our radio, and the Klondike treats in the freezer( my husband's favorite!) were very cozy, though 1 night got missed. Breakfast was great and Jonathan, the cook, was very accommodating. Expect to pay $40-50 more than what was quoted to you....our reservation confirmation only gave us a price average/night instead of the total and they told us on check-in that the package we had chosen wasn't included in the per night price. I had read that this has happened to almost all the reviews here, so we were expecting it. I feel that needs to be addressed and a Complete total along with a confirmation number should be sent and presented upon checkin so there are no surprises. A parking pass should be included instead of having to pay $8/2 days. We will probably stay in the Historic district when we return again, just for a different prospective, but this is a lovely Inn in the main shopping district.
