UUGGHH!!!!!
Three stars? Only if you're using a 1-100 star rating, and even then I'm doubtful. Upon pulling into the parking lot, we saw crack dealers and prostitutes. Our hearts calmed down a little when we saw the hotel's armed guard. As we arrived in Jacksonville late at night, and this was our reservation, we thought we may have no choice. We went inside, and the first thing we noticed was paint peeling off the lobby doors. The clerk took our information and gave us our room key. Approaching our room, we smelled something like urine and cadavers. We tentatively opened the door to our room, and promptly found that our room seemed to be the source of the odor. It was so gross, we did not want to touch anything. The carpet was covered with cigarette burns that looked like little swarming snakes. We looked to our right, and saw a big bloody booger dried on the bathroom door at eye level. All surfaces in the room and bathroom were filthy and STICKY! We were so creeped out, we practically ran to the reception desk, and quickly checked out. My husband and I would have preferred to sleep in our car!
(This is not a hotel----this is a motel.)
By providence, my husband and I found a room at the Jameson Inn, which turned out to be only two dollars more per night, with our Mayo Clinic patient discount. That hotel was in a safe part of town, was absolutely wonderful, and exceeded our expectations. On a scale of one to four, the Jameson Inn certainly deserves a three star rating. The Hospitality Inn does not deserve any stars at all, and probably should be condemned by the city.
