nice experience for cheap
By Anna, 04/13/09
I was pleasantly surprised to see our hotel room in such good conditions. First of all, before choosing this hotel I spent hours reading reviews of different hotels around New Haven area. This hotel has more positive feedbacks than hotels closer to New Haven and higher in stars. Nevertheless, the room was very cozy, everything lookes new, especially the bed cover that usually lookes dirty and old. The AC/heater kept us warm, enjoyed various TV channels and shower. The staff was helpful. When I asked if they have beach close to motel, in a second without asking for it, they guy gave me print out of detailed directions. We paid additional $3.17 for wireless internet for 24 hours and they have pretty cool microwave in the lobby. At last, it took us 15 min to get to New Haven center. Highly recommend!!!

nightmare at motel 6
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
This was the worst experience I ever had in a motel. There were people running through the halls, slamming doors, partying, yelling at their children, and this was all after 10 p.m.!!! When I complained they said that they would move me to another room, where? There was nowhere they could have put me where it would have been quiet. I checked out and went elsewhere. Just out of curiousity I went back the next afternoon and said I needed a quiet room for the night. They told me, "due to my past history I was no longer allowed to stay there". I asked what history? and they told me they couldn't disclose that! What, because I wanted a quiet room!!!!! I also had 8 other friends staying in seperate rooms for the weekend and when I saw them on Sunday they were all talking about how horrid a stay they had had. I advise anyone that wants a motel room in the Branford area, don't stay here. There is a real nice motel up the road at exit 56. I think the thing that bothered me the most was that they didn't do anything to stop the noise. They did appologize though, as I was checking out at 11 p.m. to go drive around to find another motel.

Great place for such price

Stayed one night before my Yale interview in Nov. I did some research online before booking this hotel. Glad I read other people's reviews here and on orbitz. The cheapest hotel you can find in new haven area. Pleasant suprise : bed and bathroom were very clean, Frontdesk was friendly, and my room was quiet. Everything was wonderful for a internet rate below $50. Can't expect more.

Convenience was key
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/05
This was our (my husband and my) first trip out of town as a family and without parents of our own; we were looking to make this trip go over with ease. We couldn’t have asked for more. We stayed in Branford so that we could see Connecticut and still visit NYC with excellent time to the BDL; the motel 6 (which we visited online) was the most economical choice since San Antonio’s cost of living is less than that in Connecticut. The motel was a two-story with front and back entrances to the motel rooms inside the building; the rooms being inside, instead of lining the building outside, gave it a more pleasant, safe feel. Our room was a double bed, non-smoking at the rate of $47.49 (internet rate) a night for $351.06 as a week’s total. The clerk was pleasant enough—it wasn’t Southern hospitality, but not rude either—and the cleaning service was obliging. The only problem was the toilet in our room: it had a leak so that whenever we flushed a little (fresh) water would drain out onto floor. There’s a gas station, Walgreen’s, and a movie theater across the street; connected to the Motel 6 is a type of delicatessen that we hadn’t gotten a chance to try but we bothered them a lot for information. All in all, our’s was a pleasant experience and we would absolutely stay with Motel 6 again.
