Rustic Comfort
You have to appreciate history to enjoy Grand Lake Lodge and the feel of the past with the present. The Lodge was commissioned to be built about the same time Yellowstone Lodge was built to service the National Park guests. The feel of rustic comfort still reigns over the entire resort. You must be up for hiking, due to the grounds unlevel area and at 8300 ft elevation being in shape helps. The dinners and bar are wonderful, but is upsetting to have to be billed extra to eat on the glassed in porch. Never been charged for a view before. The nightly bands during the summer peak season is great. No TV or Radio, so be prepared to enjoy your family at the pool, hot tub or game room. Bring plenty of conversation with you and stories to share. Love it, but the cabins have paper thin walls and is very uncomfortable for intimacy or privacy. If you cannot go without TV, bring your lap top and plenty of DVD's. Mary Weaver
