would recomend it Good price and value
By joyce, 11/22/09
We stayed two nights Rooms very large and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. There was three of use staying in a junior suite .Looked like it had been remodeled . Beds were comfortable. Good location next to cable car. We took a taxi from the Wharf and it only cost us $8.50 for the ride. Would stay there again.

Great for Price considering location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/08
I did an exaustive search for a reasonably priced property to stay for a business trip to San Fran and found this gem. I was nervous at first because of the price (who knows what you'll get), but thrilled when we got to our rooms. They were spacious if somewhat dimmly lit - but as they say, who spends that much time in their room? I was satisfied with the cleanliness, the kitchenette was a nice bonus, and the view...I was on the 18th floor and I went out every night to take pictures and enjoy, it was breathtaking. It's true, there is no air conditioning (nor can you control the heat), but I was there in the spring so I regulated my own room temperature by cracking the window. By the way, you cannot beat the location - Nob Hill is fabulous and an easy walk to the financial district, Union Square, and Chinatown. Fisherman's Wharf is a $5-8 cab ride away as well, and the Cable Car goes right by the nearest side street if you want that experience. The staff was friendly and super helpful with giving directions and advice. While it's a little shabby around the edges, the pros far outweighed the cons and I'd absolutely stay here again.

Poor management
By Andrew, 11/4/07
At first I really enjoyed this hotel. We were traveling with an infant and the kitchen area and space in the room really helped. On our last night in the hotel, we were told the water would be out for "a couple hours" for repairs. Several hours later the water was still not back on. We were given one gallon of water and told to use the bathroom downstairs. As we woke up in the morning to get ready for our flight home, the water was still off. We were told we could use the bathroom in one of the rooms where the water was working. As a woman, I didn't feel quite safe going into some strange room, especially after observing the front staff just handing out keys to anyone who asked. I understand that there are times when things will need repair. However, I feel the hotel management did a horrible job handling the problem. They could have moved people to a different hotel the night of the repairs. I felt they were dishonest in not disclosing the possibility of having no water for over 14 hours. In addition, the front staff seemed absolutely overwhelmed and uninformed about what was happening. Giving people a gallon of water and telling them to use the bathroom in the lobby area is ridiculous.

Nice Place, Unless You Like Air Conditioning
By Eric Wittkopp, 6/24/07
Our room had a compact kitchen, a couch, and a king size bed. It was more than what we needed for a two night stay. Parking was gated behind the hotel at a cost of $30/night. The internet was a little slow, however they have PCs in the lobby for guest use which were complimentary. Even printing our tickets for Alcatraz was no charge. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go, including Pier 39 (20 minutes or so). The staff at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The only bad thing was the lack of air conditioning. It got hot during the days and the room would heat up quite a bit. We had a balcony so we were able to open the door during the evening to allow the room to cool down. Without a screen door however, a couple bugs flew in... Overall, a good place to stay. I would consider staying here again however not if I could find something comparable with air conditioning. Entertaining Accommodiations
By Mike, 12/19/06
This hotel is more for fans of Fawlty Towers than for a business traveler seeking efficiency. The hotel is very nice, if a bit frayed around the edges. It is impeccably clean and all the staff are insanely nice - emphasis on the insane. Whether they are chasing hummingbirds around the lobby with all the lights out, or tackling the latest electronic device to go on the fritz, dealing with them is nothing if not entertaining. No task is completed simply, but it is always completed promptly and nicely. The only exception was that the internet connection, which was down half the days we stayed there. Luckily Cup-A-Joe Coffeehouse is seven blocks away, and has free wifi and excellent beer deals. The location is great, and the views are breathtaking, expecially for the price.

Wonderful Experience!!!!
By Dennis, 7/31/06
We had a corner room suite and it was marvelous! We're from Arkansas and we enjoyed our family trip to San Francisco better than any other vacation we've ever taken thanks in large part to the Hotel and it's staff! The staff were always there to help us with tour details and even scheduling the tour and details for us. They helped us locate a nearby rental outlet and were extremely courteous. The room we had had a great view of the city! We highly recommend Grosevnor Suites for your trip to San Francisco!

Worth a stay for what you pay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/19/06
We stayed here the summer of 2005 with our two daughters. We had a corner room. It had ample space, the kitchenette was very handy seeing that we had our children with us, and it was a clean as most hotels are. The service was fine. It is an older hotel not fancy at all but we were not in our room much. Who goes to San Francisco and stays in their room??? For what we gave for the room, we were pleased.

You can't beat the value. Their Jr. Suites are amazing. The view from the 11th floor is world class. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly. Since this was once an apartment building, most rooms have kitchens and plenty of closet space. You will not be disapointed.
