Poor customer service!

We stayed at the Best Western Coronado on the first night of our vacation. The room was average. At about 7:30 pm there was a loud alarm going off in the room next to ours. We called the front desk, and someone did go in and turn it off. Unfortunately, we heard that same alarm from about 10 pm until midnight. I just couldn't take it anymore, so I caled the front desk and explained that it had happened earlier and a staff member went to turn it off. The employee told me she couldn't do anythinng about it. I called again and said something had to be done, so she told me that if I would stand out in the courtyrard area and watch her, she would go in and check it out. I had to get out of bed at 12:30 am and stand outside. In the morning when we were checking out, I mentioned what had happened. The woman behind the desk as good as accused me of lying saying that someone had checked in that room at 11:30 pm, so the "sound" must have been coming from another room. I told her about me standing outside in the middle of the night and she just shrugged her shoulders. I thought that was the most unprofessional display of customer service I have ever experienced. Needless to say, we altered our plans and did not stay at a BEST WESTERN for the remainder of our trip. I doubt we will in the future either. How sad that one bad expericence can leave such an impression!
