El San Juan Hotel & Casino Hilton, Carolina

The place has a great lobby, but that is it. The rooms are old and smelly, the Funk in the whole hotel is close to sickining... Bath rooms were dirty etc... would recommend you stay at the Marriott or some other place in town.

The hotel is high end with doormen greeting you as you enter. The lobby area is very dark with a lot of dark wood and low lights. The staff was ok, nothing outstanding. This hotel definitely caters to the nightlife with a casino in the hotel a nightclub and music and dancing in the lobby. There is a good assortment of restaurants ranging from japanese, italian, tex mex, mexican (have a margarita here its expensive but GOOD) & more. It was nice if you are going to Puerto Rico, but next time I'll go on another cruise instead.

I can't speak for any other guest, but my view from the 9th floor was a beautifully scenic postcard of the entire beach stretching to the west. The hotel itself is full of choices from pools to beach lounging, casino to salsa dancing, light breakfasts to full course meals. My wife and I enjoyed every one of those and found time to take a fantanstic snorkel tour to the island of Culebra and the rain forrest El Yunke. We would recommend anyone looking to have a great vacation in Puerto Rico to stay at this great hotel. My compliments to the Front desk staff, the Bartenders at the Encanto Pool Bar and the entire 9th floor cleaning staff for all your work!! Thank you. Had a fantastic time and we can't wait to return! We arrived at the hotel late in the evening to a crowded lobby filled with anxious and frustrated patrons. When my then fiancee and I stepped to the desk, we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and that our room was not available. Instead of making a fuss, we explained that it was our first trip to the island and that we would take a "closet' or merely a recommendation for a nearby hotel. Our engaging clerk excused himself and returned a few moments later-- beaming. He explained that after a long and arduos day he found our demeanor refreshing and rewarded us with a deluxe suite with a beach view-- for the price of the standard King room we had reserved. We spent the night salsa-ing away, drinking martinis at the breath taking main bar and trying our luck in the casino. After a beautiful continenetal breakfast on our patio and a couple hours by their gorgeous pool (they have THE best towels!!), we took a shuttle into Old San Juan where we enjoyed the islands spectacular architecture, local flavor and monster shopping. We are curently planning our first year anniversary with the El San Juan Wyndham Hotel & Casino, looking forward to their generous hospitality, impeccable service and feeling of home.

I wish i could live here forever ...people were very friendly in town and it seem to be a boom town in the city for new construction...looking for a job this is the place...

Just got back from a great trip to Puerto Rico with one exception... The Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino! Please don't be fooled by the name "Wyndham" because in this case you do not get what you pay for. At $185+/- a night you really are getting ripped off! The rooms were incredibly outdated with stained carpets, rusty bathroom fixtures, missing trim along the walls and sheets that were supposed to be white with stains on them. �Housekeeping,� meant throwing the bedspreads back on top of the beds without out even remaking the bed. The Concierge and the Front Desk were of little help with most issues and even worse seemed minimally concerned with the problems brought to their attention. The "newly renovated" lobby is dark and musty. It smelled like a raunchy saloon and cigars at most times with bathrooms that were beyond filthy. I would not recommend staying here at all. With the exception of a great beach location and few (2) staff members who were genuinely concerned about the guests enjoying their stay, it truly was a disappointment!

it is wonderful but the price is a bit steep. the service is great the pools are wonderful even have a pool with a waterfall feels like your in paridise.

GREAT PLACE FOR VACATIONING EXCELLLENT SERVICE GOOD WITH KIDS AND EXCELLENT FOOD, POOLS SPA FOOD TRANSPORTATION, IS A PERFECT PLACE FOR THE FAMILY AND I REALLY THINK I WILL RETURN.

It was 5 minutes from the airport and once we entered the dark yet cozy and elegant main lobby, we were enthralled. They have everything there...the casino, lovely shopping areas, the best club! and the best italian restaurant we have ever eaten at. The rooms were bright and clean and the service was awesome. Such a romantic place to stay. We will defintely be back! This time we will get a monarch suite!! I suggest this hotel to anyone. If you want to visit the rainforest, I would suggest renting a (we got a smar car) car to venture out....money saver and you spent that time be yourself. Truly enjoyed our stay! The staff was amazing. They were able to hold luggage, load, help people and all the while be gracious and charming. Loved the view from the roof, where the pool was. Only issue was the $15 per person breakfast buffet without many other options. Central to the ships and to the center of old San Juan. Close to Senor Frogs for nightlife.
