Union Station Hotel Autograph Collection, Nashville

My company had the opportunity to hold a two day Managers Meeting at the Union Station Hotel in Nashville, TN. in May of 2009. What an awesome experience! Planning the meeting was a breeze with Union Station’s helpful, knowledgeable Executive Meeting Manager to work and plan with, eager to make my meeting a success, and attending to every detail. The Union Station Hotel meeting rooms were large and beautiful and created a wonderful atmosphere conducive to free interchange to work on issues and challenges. The Union Station Staff was attentive, courteous and efficient. The food served at meals and breaks during the meeting at the Union Station was excellent. The menu items offered by the Chef of Union Station made it a joy to put together my meeting’s menus. Comments after the meals from the managers attending the meeting were “Wow, this food is excellent; delicious; so tender; excellent salads; perfect desserts;” and so forth; as well as “I don’t usually eat steak, but that was wonderful!” to name a few. The rooms at Union Station are unique. While offering the modern conveniences, the Union Station Hotel rooms are quaint and refreshing, retaining the antique feeling of the Union Station in its glory days. One manager had a room overlooking the lobby, and was thrilled at the large upper window from which he could see the beautiful arched stained glass window above the lobby. Only one of 15 managers attending the meeting commented on the “train noise” as distracting. One other said he heard it, but it wasn’t very loud and did not disturb him. My own room was next to the tracks, overlooking the trains coming from Church Street, yet the noise of motorcycles going by on Broadway was louder and more annoying than the occasional soft train sounds below. As a matter of fact, the train going by the intersection 3 miles from my home in Georgia makes more noise than the trains going by Union Station. The staff of Union Station Hotel is courteous, efficient and eager to attend and please. While there were a couple of minor challenges and last minute changes, the staff met and fixed the challenges and changes with prompt and courteous ease. The valet parking was so worth the extra $2.00 over the self parking, with courteous valets greeting upon arrival, attending to luggage and boxes of meeting materials both to and from guest and meeting rooms, and vehicles ready when needed. Overall, the Union Station Hotel is an excellent location for a business meeting, and I look forward to holding meetings there again in the future. I highly recommend Union Station Hotel for business meetings as you can get away from the normal, humdrum settings and enjoy a truly unique setting and experience.

Let me start by saying this place is absolutely beautiful, stunning really, from the outside, to the hotel lobby, to the stairs, to the hallways and down to the rooms themselves, simply marvelous. With that said..... The worst hotel experience I've ever had, hands down. I've stayed in cheap 29 dollar hotels in South Korea and was more impressed than I was with this place. Everyone seemed disinterested with my concerns. The woman at the front desk, Erica, seemed as if I was wasting her time and she gave me even more of an attitude when I tried to explain to her that I was visiting from overseas as a soldier on leave and while I was out of country there had been issues with my debit card that I had originally reserved the room with and would have to change it to a credit card. Needless to say you would've thought I mowed her favorite kitten down with a tractor trailer. I then tried asking her about the local attractions and services such as restaurants and shopping, she gave me nothing but a brochure for a pizza joint that delivers to the hotel. I get to the room, the air is broken and their was no refrigerator in the room. (A refrigerator in guest rooms is advertised on their website) A scruffy man showed up about 2 hours after I called the front desk and asked about the refrigerator with an old, rusty, beaten up small cooler sized box that I'm now using as a refrigerator. They had to call an engineer to my room to fix the air. He was a perfect gentleman and fixed the air in a very speedy manner, the only pleasant experience I've had here thus far. I had a long flight back to the states and needed rest. At around 7 pm a housekeeping attendant knocked and asked if I needed my room cleaned......at 7 pm? My wife is feeling ill so I went downstairs to ask them where to find a drugstore and they told me to go to the Exxon mobile right beside the hotel. The bathroom tub is dirty. The vent for the air shaft is filthy. The fire detector is ancient and a dingy yellow color and it hangs right above the bed! The internet is 9.95 a night! The website says there is internet available, it doesn't say you get robbed to use it. I have to pay 22 dollars a day for valet parking because they told me they have self parking but it's only open every few hours during the day and I have only a small window to get my car in or out. That also costs 15 dollars. I reserved the room for 2 weeks. I'm on my first night tonight and I will be checking out in the morning to go to the Hyatt where the stay is cheaper and they don't rob you for car parking and internet fees. And the rooms are nicer. I would not recommend this room to anyone, EVER, under any circumstance.

I stayed here for my 40th birthday and I loved it. The room was nice. I did not want to get out of the bed. And the food was great. I was in the bar celebrating half the day. The bartender Stephanie was really nice. The whole place is beautiful. I would stay again.

First I want to say that just like everyother place that offers customer service there is always one or two people who slack a little bit, but the kicker is when all the other staff makes up for it by going above and beyond with wonderfull service of course this hotel was no exception to that, there were a few MINOR issues, not really anything big enough to complain to management. My husband and I stayed there 3 years ago for our wedding night, I hated that the rooms were not up to par for the price that we paid. The resturant then was wonderful, but agian for the price I thought I was being jipped. So just this weekend for our anniversary we thought we would give it another chance....we were left speechless with how wonderful and beautiful everything was!!!!! The lobby is very calming with modern and historical makeing a marvelous mix. The rooms had actual interior design plans. Our room had a cream leather pincushion head board with a modern shape, the lamps were all gorgous!!! There were very stylish cutains with cream and light blue walls The was a flat pannel tv, all the furniture is in the dark wood, very modern, the carpet was beautiful, there was a cute little bench at the end of the bed covered in a chocolate fabric. The bedding is white, with soft sheets and pillow cases and a nice fluffy down comfurter, with cute stylish throw pillows and a blanket throw. Now on to the bathroom!!! Cream subway tiles on the wall with a calming blue paint on the walls. The sink vanity was very modern and spa like, there was a stainless steal soap dish, Q-Tip holder and tooth brush holder on the counter, that were full of individualy wrapped q-tips and cotton balls. There was a robe, and the towels were plush and large, the bath tub is VERY deep so it is perfect for a nice relaxing soak. As far as the trains, I quess we were lucky by not staying on a night when they were running. So I cant comment on that. The resturant Prime 108 (i think that is the name) down stairs is DEVINE!!!! I recomend the crab cakes and the prime saled...very yummy!!!! The price is very resonable for being a high end resturant. You can plan on paying about an average of $ 85.00 + with a nice dinner and drinks for two people. Their steaks are also very good. The interior design of the resturant is very modern with clear acrylic chandeliers, and romatic with candle lighting and deep woods and colors. You do have to pay for parking, they do provide vallet parking you tip the guy as much as you want, but there is also parking for $15.00 in a parking lot behind the building. The Frist Art Museum is right next door, you can walk to it in a matter of seconds. Bottom line I WOULD SOOOOOO STAY THERE!!!!

This is a beautiful hotel that is within walking distance to downtown and right across the street from the post office. The employees were very courteous and helpful; the bed was very comfortable, and the workout room was very nice. The room had a small safe, an iron and ironing board and a blow dryer. But....The room we were given was located on the track side, and of course, we heard the trains all night. I thought that we should have been warned about this before checking in. The heating/cooling unit kept going off and on loudly throughout the night which bothered me more than the trains did. The bathroom had no space to put stuff, and the water took forever to get warm. The room had a stuffy smell about it, and I don't think that all of my room had been cleaned prior to my checking in because I found a toenail clipping and pieces of hair on the sheets and a used Q-Tip on the floor. The bathroom although looked very clean. I'm just hoping that the glasses were clean because I used them. There was a charge for internet which my husband was not too happy about. There was also a $20 day parking fee which turned out to be a bargain compared to other parking lots.

The hotel was awesome. However, when I booked it, they did not inform me that it was under renovation. I was disappointed with all the construction going on.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for the 4th of July and we were very impressed! The staff is incredibly helpful, the rooms look like an interior decorator designed them, they offer physical fitness rooms (which we used) and the hotel is within walking distance of downtown Nashville night life. Some people seem to want an updated, remodeled hotel and this would be it! The lobby is extravagant and looks like it was designed in the early 1900's with beautiful architecture but looks to be in perfect condition and the rooms, as I said earlier, are very modern. The only thing we didn't like was the fee for accessing the wireless internet. We don't stay at many hotels but it seems that most offer that for free. But the staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and everything was wonderful!! Overall we loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Everyone was extremely nice and helpful beginning from the valet to the receptionist. The hotel is just beautiful and the room was perfect. Check in was great, no long lines to wait through, the staff went out of their way to get things for us. Seth, our valet, was extremely helpful with information about the town. We DEFINITELY will be back to visit. The hotel was convenient to downtown. Only a few blocks to the nightlife, but far enough so that you get to have a great nights rest.

We did not book this hotel because it was "under renovation". Big mistake. We went to the hotel and asked. The only areas not renovated are their meeting rooms 1st & 2nd floors-in the basement- and restaurant. The lobby and all rooms are complete. There are multiple restaurants and bars within a few blocks and only 5 short blocks from the Broadway strip. At the internet price of $130/night it is great. We stayed at the Comfort Inn only 2 blocks away for the outragous price of$140/night. Parking anywhere downtown ranges from $2-4 per half hour or $18-24/day.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway to Nashville, and it was wonderful. I must admit we really only used the place to sleep in, and didn't use all the hotel has to offer. If this sounds like you, then the hotel will still surprise you. The lobby will amaze. Our king sized room seemed small, and the way it was set up to view the lobby seemed strange at first, but I was taken by the beauty of the place. A ten minute walk down Broadway put us right in the middle of the clubs there, and on 2nd Ave., and "Printer's Alley", we even walked right past Gaylord Entertainment Center and Ryman Auditorium. Not to mention the Fisk Art museum, and a great pub were right next door. We left the car parked and saw it all. A great stay in the city.
