Great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/11
Had to find a hotel close to Green Valley Road offices and didn't want to pay O'Henry or Proximity rates. The hotel is not much to look at from outside but inside everything was super clean and fully operational. You can't do better than this hotel for the rate I paid in any city in the South.

Won't go back
By SB, 10/25/09
I stayed at the Battleground Inn for 2 nights. The television did not work, which management knew about, but since it was a weekend they could not fix it. The bed was very uncomfortable. No microwave, no frig, no frills. Would not stay there again for the price (79.00)

Battle to get to sleep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/09
The Air conditioning was full of mold and was so loud that it sounded like an airplane was taking off in our room every 20 minutes. We finally had to turn it off in hopes of getting any sleep. The bathroom was FAR from clean. We needed a cot for our third child and we had to move a significant amount of furniture to fit it in the room despite being assured it would fit. Needless to say, the staff doesn't move the furniture to clean apparently. The cot itself didn't open entirely so we put the smallest child in it in hopes he wouldn't wake up bent in half. The "complimentary" breakfast was marginal at best. Although convenient and inexpensive you definitely get what you pay for at the Battleground Inn. We moved to another hotel after our one sleepless muggy night there. The planes taking off at the airport hotel were quieter than the air conditioning at the Battleground Inn.

Decent hotel, good location, short on the amenities
By spiel, 7/24/09
You can't beat the location of this hotel. However, you had better request a fridge when you make your reservation because only two of the rooms with two beds have a refrigerator in the entire hotel! All single occupancy rooms come sans refrigerator. Also, there is no pool at the hotel.

loved it!
By BedOfRoses49, 3/28/08
had no problems at all! staff friendly, location is perfect for us- easy access to everything, including downtown GSBO, price reasonable.... have even booked family there a couple of times in the past few yrs (our 25yr old son loved going to the gym down the street, which was part of the room rate) If you are looking for an "everything is in the building" hotel, the Battleground Inn is not for you. But if you are looking for value, it is the place to stay!!

Never had a problem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/07
My husband and I have stayed here now 3 times and have never really had a problem. The only time was last Christmas there seemed to be a shortage of parking and the front desk girl was extremely rude. The rooms are very clean and it's very convenient to everything that we need to do while we are visiting the area. I just made our reservations for this year during the holidays.

Very Slack Phone Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
I made 2 calls to this motel on 8/7/2006. The first time, the phone rang many, many times. Finally someone picked up, but laid the phone down, not saying "hold on" or anything. I could hear a girl takling in the background and even after me hollaring "hello" several times, no one would come to the phone. The background got quiet and then I only heard a typing or printer sound. I hung up, called directly back. The phone rang like 50 times and no one would pick it up. Pitiful, because I was calling trying to get them some business from some relatives coming to town that might would have stayed there. Obviously, I will not recommend this Motel to anyone! Linda

my worst experience in the us,by me an englishman.
By Harry, 5/19/05
A warning to all potential visitors to this hotel !!!! This hotel's air-con is full of mold,i managed about half an hour in the hotel room before i came severly sick,i very nearly called 911 for emergency help,i do not have allergy or breathing problems but in this hotel i very nearly suffocated due to the contamination in the air-con.To make matters even worse; The staff treated us with total disrespect, making us out to be liars, and they wouldn't give us a full refund even though there hotel had just nearly killed me,we only managed 30 minutes inside this hotel,i hope you can manage more? Thank You for charging us $25 for a 20 cent bar of soap which i used to try and get the fungus of me.To authenticate this review here are the details of our stay; booked in at appox 23:30 fri april 22nd under the name TAIN.
