Comfort Inn Lakeside, Mackinaw City

The price they offer is not what you will get do not sign till you check what they are charging you..........No room cleaning, no one at the desk at night spider heaven.....Breakfast sucked......rooms are in need of repair tub did not drain...........

My husband and I went here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We chose this location because of the great reviews on this site. The front desk staff did not know anything about the local area, one of the pop machines was full of pop and not plugged in-my husband had to plug it in himself. Our jacuzzi had standing water in it when we checked in and hair at the bottom! We asked the desk staff for info about the restaurants in the area, they couldn't provide us with accurate info. We went to a restaurant accross the street and they gave us better info about the island and the general area than the hotel staff! We then decided to check out early and go to a different hotel. Immediately upon saying we had issues and wanted to check out, the manager on duty said it was too late and we would get charged for another night. However, we already stayed 1 night and were checking out BEFORE 11 on the day we wanted to leave early. We told her all of our complaints and she got defensive saying "how am I supposed to know anything about the island, I don't go there!" She was very rude and was yelling at me and my husband! We told her we were there for our anniversary and she didn t care. She also wouldn't call the general manager for us to get the extra night's charge taken off of our bill. We checked out anyway, and checked in to the Best Western Dockside. They had our room and keys ready by 11:30am, and the manager there called the general manager at the Comfort Inn Lakeside and had our charge removed. We had GREAT experience at the Best Western!

This is a really nice hotel. It's right on the beach. Next time I would try to reserve a lakeside room but since this was a last-minute trip, those rooms were all booked. We had very good service. The employees are all friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean. The complimentary continental breakfast offered enough variety to please most people. It was quiet, we didn't hear people in other rooms or any of the parking lot noises that you can sometimes hear. There is a lot to see and do in this city. It's one of those places where you can kick back and relax, or you can pack your day with fun-filled activities. We enjoyed it very much and would definitely recommend the trip.

We went early the night before venturing over to MAckinaw Island and we had a great roon at the comfort inn,,, We got Northwest points for staying there too.... We had a room with a whirlpool tub and the lake view was beautiful ... The continetal breakfast was perfect .... Would highly reccomend ...
