5 reviews for Studio Inn and Suites, Downey
From Indiana to California
By George, 02/07/09
Oh My Goodness, after reading the reviews of some of the other people, I had to put my 2 cents in. My stay here was an extended one till I found the apt I am living at now. Myself being a conosuier of Hotel living as I have at various locations across this great country of ours, this is one of the most respectful places I have laid my head at night. The clerks and staff were very helpful in every aspect of my satay there. They were very courteous and offered up a friendly smile whenever they seen you . To some of the people who experienced problems there, I would say look at our own homes and see if we live in a perfect house. I will definitely recomend this hotel to any of my friends coming out to visit in the near future and will stay there again, myself. You all there at the Comfort Inn, Take care and keep up the good work. George Christiansen

Great place to stay for a few nights
By Kev-Dog, 01/28/08
my room was as promised a non smoking king. the grounds where will kept and clean. a nice mall, fast food and good coffee(starbucks and the coffee bean) near by. i stayed with a friends we had 3 total rooms for 2 nights. i got my same rate as quoted on internet. some road noise, but helpful and respectful staff. great breakfast in am both days. fresh waffles, bagels, oj and more. i felt safe and my vehicle was in site of my room. all in all i would stay agian, its not the embassy suites but hey i got $50 more bucks each night in savings.

Owner is a Crook
By Wendy, 07/27/05
There is a nice guy there in the evening who checked us in, but the owner is there in the morning, the next morning I went in to extend our stay for another day and the owner got my signature for a credit card transaction, then he told me he was changing my room, it was the same type of room but on the floor below, he said. Well it was a smoking room he changed me to, so I went back and told him I was going to the Best Western down the street. I told him to refund my money and he said "There is nothing to refund, I haven't charged you yet". So I said alright, not realizing that this guy was a crook. I got my stuff and went to back in to clarify that there was nothing else he needed from me, and he said no, but with a dirty look on his face, I should have realized then that he was up to no good. Sure enough, I get home and he had billed me for 2 days. I'm disputing the charges with my credit card company, I get no answer when I call, I think he is ignoring all calls from my area code. Pay in cash, or don't stay here at all, everything the other users said about the poor quality is true. There is a Best Western down the street in Norwalk that treated me right for the same price.

STAY AWAY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/05
First, this picture is not a picture of this hotel (verified the address). It is much scuzzier looking (Pink stucco, exterior entrances, and road medians only permit entrance from one direction with poor traffic control). Second, visible bugs on entry into room. 3rd, very poor breakfast buffee. Basically, just prewrapped grocery store items. 4th, While hot water worked in the evening, neither morning was there any hot water. 5th, you have to pay for high speed internet, pay for LOCAL calls, anything you can be charged a fee for, you will be. 6th, no alarm clock in the room and no iron in the room. At first they refused to bring an iron up to the room, even though I was in a towel following a cold shower (see re: hot water) having just discovered no iron was present though they do provide the ironing board. They only brought it up when I complained about the hot water, because they refused to belive me and insisted I must be controlling the shower incorrectly, so they came up to show me how (and couldnt get any) and I insisted that since he was coming up anyway, that he bring the iron. 7th, there are only a very few TV channels, and at least a 3rd of them are foreign language. For you english speakers, it's basically just local channels and HBO and little else. I won't be darkening their doors again.

Should have moved!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/05
Faucet for hot tub leaks onto floor. Callers were told we were not registered. Upon arrival we were told we had no reservation. We had a number given us by the Inn not the 800#. Ants in wall of bathroom, came out when shower was used. Extened cable (advertised) never came on. Delivered package for us left laying on front desk counter, available to anyone who may have decided to walk off with it. When we went to pick it up clerks did not know where it was. It was in plain sight.
