Ripped of and denied check in
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/07
I made a reservation over the phone with the Knights Inn with my credit card in Martinsburg, W.V. with plans to check in on the 31st of Aug. I asked the man on the phone if it was alright that my boyfriend check in for me before I got there because I would be at work until later that night. He said it wouldn't be a problem and we went through with the transaction. My boyfriend showed up around 3pm on Friday the 31st and there was a lady at the desk and she would not let him check in, saying that my credit card only reserved the room and she would need his credit card and ID for him to check in.He was very upset from her rudeness and explained that he could not use his credit card at the time, that was why we made the reservation on my card. When she refused to listen or understand he walked out. My boyfriend then called me to let me know what happened while I was at work and told me to make sure they weren't charging my credit card because they would not let us check in. I called and talked to the woman and she was short with me, and said I could not have my money back and then hung up on me. I persistently called numerous times and finally talked to some foreign guy who said I could not have my money back because I had to cancel by 6pm. I told him that I had been trying to call and cancel all afternoon but the lady was being rude and hanging up on me. He then calls his manager and talks to him in a language that I do not know. He again told me that I could not have my money back and that I could come in the morning and talk to his manager that he talked to on the phone. There was obviously a misunderstanding from the moment that I made my reservation, with nowhere to stay for the weekend and down $158.00 I'm pretty upset and I would like to get my money back.
