DoubleTree Suites by Hilton - Times Square, New York

Checked in @1300, room not ready. They said come back 1530-1600. OK, no problem with that, we still had more site-seeing to do. We came back 1545, waited in queue 1hr,15min. There was no explanation or reason given to the gathering crowd as to why checkin was taking so long. When we finaly got keys and went to the room it was already occupied! Went back to reception, (there were 70+ people still waiting) the Supervisor, Mr.Basim Mateen offered us to wait 2 more hours in dining room. But we couldn't wait! We needed the room to get changed for our dinner reservation @1800. Here we were @1715, still no room and no viable alternative for getting ready for our dinner at Caroline's Comedy club. So we had no choice but to go home. We waited two months for that dinner reservation. And DoubleTree ruined it! This is not the service I have received in previous Hilton properties. The worst part was waiting without explanation. Mr.Basim Mateen was speaking regularly with his friend in queue, but no announcement or explanation to the rest of us standing there. He couldn't be bothered to tell us anything. Other "guests" had no alternative and I felt terrible for those who flew in and had NO WHERE ELSE to go. At least my wife and I could take the train home. We're absolutely disgusted with their blatant indifference to our (and 60+ others) plight. I've traveled 50%+ of my time in the last 7 years. I have never been treated this poorly. Hilton should fire all of them. They could have given us chairs, they could have explained, they could have told us @1300 when we checked in the first time. I went to Hilton Near Heathrow in summer 2004 when they had a strike @BritishAirways. There they treated everyone wonderfully. People were using rollaway beds and extra chairs in the lobby and conference rooms. But not in DoubleTree NYC (A Hilton property), there you have to fend for yourself. Good luck. The rooms were very nice in this hotel, but I found that the service was excellent. Everyone was really pleasant and friendly. A great place with down to earth people.

double tree is not only clean and organized, its welcoming and peaceful. i've been there a couple of times. its very nice. the workers there are helpful.

Everyone was very nice! I like staying in suites verses rooms. More family oriented and even just for husband and wife, more room and luxury feel.

the location was great and easy to get around the city!! It is a beautiful place to stay.. very clean and everyone was very willing to help with anything I needed... thank you !!

The most beautifull time for visit New York City is ... Christmas time ,when all around us was so glowing and light ,the gorgeous evenings spent here not for a long time ago, would have been unforgettable.Happyness is floating in the air and every body try to be cheerfull and kind and generous each others.The place near Brodway remind me about a gipsy poet woman , from my country , who has written wonderfull poems about New York City and she recited on Brodway , having a big success:she saw New York City born from the Atlantic Ocean. waves foam like the beauty mythological Venera and all stars were sparkling in the sky and never the Milky Way has been more beautifull.I was living magical moments at that romantic dinners , with many candle and such excellent service ,all seems to be perfect , here .Christmas time makes this place more fantastic than usually:everywhere light , joy , happyness people loaded with gifts ....all around us was so romantic and the elegance of hotel made us to feel charmed each other for ever .This hotel could be the place of the most unique beginnings for family life and of course love storyies;there are comfortable rooms , discreet services, nice scent ... flowers ....I enjoy most the view from above the window, at night ... I liked much and to walk nearly to shopping, to watch shows and to listen carol singers.Try to visit this place and you will never forget about Christmas time !

Can't beat it for location, it's in the middle of everything! Wonderful suite hotel with microwave and fridge. The new beds rock! The TKTS booth is right outside the door as are many of the theaters and restuarants.

We enjoyed having the luxury of a suite for our family. It did not seem like we were in a hotel because of the extra room we had. It was also nice to have the extra touches that we were given (like those tasty cookies}.

im in new york all the time. . this is my favorite place to stay. . great location, comfortable beds, great view, excellent food, its perfect! i love love love it!!!!!!!

Very spacious suites, delicious free cookies, and right in the heart of times square! It was also very clean, had a pull out couch plus a bed, and the halls were quiet. Good place to stay for families or singles.
