TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
By AnaM, 6/22/10
BE VERY CAREFUL, when booking online. THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES IN YOUR PLANS. I made a reservation, and paid for 2 nites - 3 months in advance for an aunt that was coming into town for a grad in June. She passed away in April and I contacted the hotel to tell them what happened and to see if I could possibly use the rooms at another time...I was told NO, that there was nothing they could do, I was not asking for a refund, just the ability to use the rooms at another time....They didn't care, they already had my money, and were fine that no one used the rooms. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY IN A DOUBLETREE OR HILTON, AGAIN!

Has the potential to be a five star hotel, but needs some improvement
By My Opinion, 11/17/07
Our home was under construction, therefore, we stayed at our local hotel in San Pedro,CA. We absolutely love the marina and the area is quiet and peaceful. The best part of our stay was the excellent and friendly service of the staff. The food was also very good - our compliments to the chef. However, there are some items that need improvement: - No valet or bell captain when we checked in. Therefore, we needed to carry our luggage to the room - making several trips. - The only exercycle in the fitness room was broken. - The molding in our room was coming off the wall and held together with tape. - The carpet and chair ottoman were dirty. - There was not a mini refrigerator in our room. Some other added suggestions could be: - Add entertainment in the lounge on weekends. - A separate restaurant for intimate dining would be ideal. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. With slight improvement as noted above the Doubletree - San Pedro could be a five-star hotel, especially due to their friendly and warm staff.

Nice but Not That Nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/07
I am presently staying at this hotel--ten days and counting due to home relocation--and am now writing this review via my $9.95/day Internet connection. I am being charged $189 per day--pre-taxes--for a guest room with a king-sized bed and (partial) view of the harbor plus more $$$ for all the other optional, but, for me, personally necessary extras [Internet, microwave ($10/day), and mini refrigerator ($10/day)]that are usually free at other like-priced hotels . The room price is way too steep given the fact that the room, while pretty clean and decent looking, is rather small. There are no screens on the window, which forces one to use the air conditioner, which is NOISY and dated. There are few available TV/cable channels and the maid service is only adequate. Over all, it's an overpriced hotel that charges much too much for semi-views of a marina and really robs one blind for Internet, refrigerator, and microwave usage, which, albeit, are optional additions. One plus, though, is the hotel is pet-friendly--but again, at a charge!!!

Rundown Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/06
Room was full of old stained and tattered furnishings, also the hallways. I was given a card key that didn't work, so I had to walk all the way back to the front desk to get another.

Review

Hotel was of the older variety, but nice. Dinning facilities were nice. Distance from other eating establishements require one to eat at the hotel facilities. Price is "California prices". View of harbor and local boats was great.

my hotel of choice anytime
By tom, 2/24/06
not much to dislike, they have a nice resturant with bar, bottle of champain or cider on arrival, full breakfast buffet with all the trimmings, for a few dollars more you have a nice view of the harbor, the hotel is in a better area with other nice resturants as well close by, the parking was excellent for long term parking, very efficient shuttle to and from the docks of your choice, the rooms were a little older but clean and getting ready to completely remodel the place. friendly staff and the quest were mostly travelers like myself nice people. tv, video game and internet. I shopped around and for the money and the parking this hotel is my #1 choice.

Beautiful View from Hotel Room.
By Christina, 5/11/05
This hotel was very nice. The first night we got there, the air conditioner leaked and soaked our heads. We asked for a different room, they were very apologetic and gave us another room. The pool is ok, nothing special.

hotel review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/16/05
Everything was fine at the Marina Hotel in San Pedro. The rooms were great. The only problem we had was that upon arrival we added a third room and without authorization thye billed myu american express card after my daughter had told them she was paying for her own room. I left for the airport earlier than my daughter and therefore did not know this until she arrived at the airport. This did not make me happy and I have written a letter to the hotel in regards to this. Karen Burse
