We really Can't wait to go back
By KAT, 02/04/10
My husbad took me the Vegas for my 50th birthday. Very first time to Vegas. Didn't know where to stay, so we picked the Mirage. Yes we will stay there again. Everything was wonderful! Great location, food, and service. So glad we picked the Mirage. YES ~I would recommend the Mirage.

Great room, decent casino, so-so restaurants
By beatlemaniac, 01/27/10
The room was wonderful, the staff discreet but efficient, the buffet good. I want to try other hotels on the strip so I won't stay here next time, but overall a very positive experience. The Japonais restaurant is a total ripoff, the other restaurants unimpressive with 1980's dishes like seared Ahi tuna on whatever and coconut crusted shrimp at "Kokomos". Possibly an older and unhip clientele they're catering to. They have a California pizza kitchen but the lines are long to get in during dinner hours. The clientele is obviously hip to the other restaurants in the hotel, at least. Oh, the hamburger joint was excellent, if you can eat red meat on a Friday. Good luck if you don't, I swear next time we will take a taxi to Red Lobster, now that every casino/hotel I currently suspect have a preponderance of ripoff "gourmet" restaurants if they are not known chain restaurants like Red Lobster. The casino was a little dingy and the waitresses were surprisingly older hag types wearing what looked to be a short skirted version of the wicked witch of the west costume. I enjoyed that, as I am a heterosexual female. Bring on the kids for those of you with families.

Fun but a snag?
By DOLORES D, 01/17/10
We stayed at the Mirage beacuse we really wanted to see the Beatles LOVE show. The rooms were very nice, love the beds and actually bought some of the pillows. But, the fire alarm went off at 2:00 and it was a false alarm!! That deserved an apology or something. Loved the show, good restuarants and the BB King Blues Bar is a BOMB...great music and food.

Location is great; Great buffet selection
By urcute, 12/12/09
It was a nice stay. The pool was great. Service is ok...$25 for gym usage perday is a tad too much. Carpet, walls are a bit dated

Started badly.....ended much better!
By Peter C, 10/29/09
When we got there, we used the early "courtesy check-in" and went out to play for a few hours. When we came back for our keys, we were told it would be another 20 mins., but we were given our keys so we could go up after the wait. 30 mins. later, we opened the door....A MESS!!! Housekeeping had not touched it yet! I get on the house phone......"we will put a rush on it.....give it another hour".....WHAT??? Ultimately, they had us going to 5 (FIVE) rooms.....I finally said we are not moving from the room we are in, and that is where we stayed. Small bathroom.....Great view.....fantastic bed! But the best part was after I got home and spoke to one of the hotel managers. She was very apologetic, and very accomodating. Next trip we have two free nights waiting for us, plus we had charges deducted from the bill. So it ended GREAT!

Run as fast as you can.......
By luvmy2dogs2, 09/27/09
This Hotel is good for one thing and that's sleep. If you book a package with someone else and not direct forget the special service. The room was fine but just good for sleeping. The view was a roof top. Food in the BLT Burger within the Mirage was terrible,$40 bucks for the worst two hamburgers we have ever eaten and I told them so. Go across the street to Dennys and McDonalds for much cheaper food or eat at the Imperial Palace for the breakfast buffet. The Love show was the only highlight from this hotel, couldn't win even a penny in the slots so beware as I learned a lot for my first trip, would definitely stay at the Flamingo down the street next time as it is right in the heart of the strip. Ride the bus for a 24 hour pass for 7 bucks to get around. Never will I go back in the month of Sept either, hotter then hell...Will return in a winter month only. Like I said sleep it was only good for and don't touch the fridge it will cost you big time..

Not perfect, but almost. Great Value for the $$$
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/09
In a nutshell: Loved the location, the decor, the upscaleness (is that a word?), the bed, and the bath products. The food is pricey and only a notch above "just okay." The slots could pay better (I guess you could say that about most casinos.) This was our 2d stay. Check in was easy and we got a Super Rate via the Player's Club invitation in the mail. Be sure to sign up and play a little in their casino and you will reap some big rewards. We requested a King / NS room. Upon arriving, the room smelled strongly of smoke. A phone call to the front desk got us an immediate room change and they reprogrammed our new room to fit our card key, eliminating the need to trudge back to the lobby and wait in line again. Only complaint about the new room was it was the LAST room down a Very Long corridor. My steps from elevator to room were 220. That's a lot of walking, whether or not you are dragging luggage. Especially if you like to pop in and out of the room several times a day. I made daily requests for early housekeeping and they graciously obliged. The bellman was most helpful when we checked in. The ice machine was out on our floor (boo, hissss), and he had to scout a couple of floors (and make that long walk) to bring us ice. Plus, he ran another errand we needed -- and quickly. Very accomodating. We didn't have very good luck with the slots in the casino. They didn't pay as well as last year. And they needed more of the newer gadget-type machines. The casino does a decent job of getting rid of smoke. Hooray for that !!! The Cravings Buffet was nice but not as nice as last year. We felt both quantity and quality were down a bit. FYI, check with the Rewards Desk to see if you have enough points for a comp meal. It doesn't take too many. The Roasted Bean has nice coffee and pastries. Pricey like everywhere else. And there's that LONG walk back to the room if you're an early bird like us. Be sure to check in the Impulse store and bring home some of the Aqua Lime bath and hair products. The shampoo, soap, and body butter are great. So's the tall plastic beer glass. It's the perfect size and will even go in the dishwasher. Take the tram to the TI next door. It beats walking in the heat. There's a McDonald's across the street. And also a Denny's. If you don't mind a little hoofing, Caesar's is "next door" also. You might be interested in the "Bare" pool. Very popular. Get there early if you want a chair. Oh, don't want to forget -- their bed is wonderful. I think it's some breed of Sealy Posturpedic. They probably sell those in Impulse store too. LOL Bottom Line: The Mirage is beautiful and swanky without all that inflated grandeur. If you want value and comfort for your money, sign up for their Player's program, and take advantage of their Deals. The Mirage will be one of our repeat stays as long as it's as great as it is today.

Really nice but expensive
By BobT, 07/21/09
Great hotel really. Room is really spacious and has an outside window that can be opened which is really a plus. Casino is clean and not too loud or smoky. Location is great. The one thing about staying here is the cost. The rooms might be reasonable but they will get you and get you good on most everything else. Just paid $3.75 for a small coffee this morning. Last night we went to the buffet and it was $80.00 for 3 of us and that did not include drinks or a tip. Lunch yesterday at a burger place in the hotel was $95.00 for the 3 of us. So all told we spent about $200.00 on food here yesterday! Be prepared to spend!
