Swiss Grand Resort and Spa, Sydney

Though the service from individual employees was very good, the room itself was not very clean and not equipped exactly as represented. The carpet was dirty and there was mold and hair in the bathroom. The carpet in the master bedroom area was wet on the wall adjoining the bathroom - a huge leak from the poorly constructed shower. though this was considered a 'Non-Smoking" room, it had the ever recognizable smoking smell and ashtrays! My room had a 'beach view', which simply meant that the room was above the street overlooking the beach. Yes you could see the beach, but you also had to contend with street noise. The street noise consisted of city buses, delivery trucks, many, many motorcycles and various cars with well equipped stereo systems. If you wished to sleep, this would not be the room, or location! Laundry service means that the hotel will send your garments out to a service and one pair of socks cost $4 AUD to be cleaned. I was expecting laundry machines in the hotel. Hotels in Australia only provide an electric kettle and instant coffee packets, don't look for a coffee machine, this is their coffee service. And be sure to bring a converter, as typically they don't supply one for western travelers. I believe that western and Australian standards are very different for cleanliness and I could not give this hotel more than a 2 rating on a scale of 1-5.
