The Casa Magna is part of the visit
I've been going to the Marriott in PV for over fifteen years, generally twice a year. I like its being, with five storeys, the small hotel in the Marina area as well as the classy grand dame of the place. It is a relatively modest, tho', compared to the giants around it. Yet it's got a class that does not overwhelm you.
One of the nicest elements about it is the waterfall in the main building's center, the sound wafting up the inside of the building, greeting you as you leave your room in the morning. You won't find better.
I never eat there, however, since there are so many unelievable restaurants on the Marina nearby (a five minute walk) and downtown (especially Le Bistro -- don't miss it).
The staff at the Marriott is almost unbearably friendly and helpful and worth good tips upon leaving.
It's a 10 minute cab ride or a twenty minute (cheap) bus ride to town. Especially on weekends, it's worth going to town and the malecon where families still walk up and down its length, the mamacitas keeping their eyes on the teenagers, different types of entertainment on the beaches (music, acrobatics, etc.) and in the open air amphitheater.
It's also a welcome sight to return to the Marriott with its quietude.
