Don't expect too much

This was an awful place. We have stayed at previous Comfort Inn's along our trip from Maine to Flordia but this by far was the worst. The first room we went in had never been cleaned, housekeeping had never went in the room to clean it, and the front desk clerk was unaware of it. When we approached her to complain that the room was still dirty, she acted like it was an inconvenience to her to have to switch our room. She then switched us to another room which had been cleaned but smelled musty, we requested air freshner, but was told that the hotel didnt have any. When we asked for restaurant suggestions, we were sent to Mrs. Rowe's under the impression that the restaurant was open late, the restaurant had been closed for two hours but the desk clerk told us it was open. The morning clerk was a little nicer in personality but quickly became cold when we requested that the $1 safe fee be removed from our bill. The hotel will charge you a safe fee on your bill without telling you you are being charged for it. Although yes it is only a $1 but when you are on a very strict budget and money is limited you have to try to make do. I didn't feel that we should have to pay for an ammenity that wasnt used and we werent even aware that the safe was in the room. I do have to say however that I did enjoy the complimentary popcorn in the lobby. That was a nice gesture. The hotel itself is older and needs some maintenance, the rate was on the pricey side. When we asked why the rate was so high we were told that it was the busy season, but we didnt see many people or cars in the parking lot when we stayed. We wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, but it may be convenient for some that are just looking for a close place to stay off of I 81. The location is nice.
