Most reviews are about Amish County Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/10
Most reviews are about Amish County Motel not the Amish View Inn and Suites. They are 2 different motels so use the comments as they apply to the motel you are considering.

Good value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/09
Exactly what my wife and I wanted; clean, safe, fairly inexpensive (by comparison to many other motels in the area), well-located, pleasant and helpful staff. No micro, but a small fridge. Powerful a/c unit which we really appreciated! And we highly appreciated their very strict no animals/ no smoking policy as we both are allergic to and do not wish to smell others' stinking pets and smoke residue. We certainly would stay there again.

Quiet Amish Country motel Gem-Thanks to Smucker Family:
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/06
We stayed at this country motel during June to visit the lovely Amish area and also visit Strasburg Railroad's "Thomas the Tank Engine" Days. For a country motel this Smucker property offers many features for a family with children to enjoy on the immediate property as well as additional amenities you can also enjoy at their main Bird-in-Hand property also located just 1 mile down the road on Rt.340-Old Philadelphia Pike. This motel is directly across from a delightful Amish Farm which we enjoyed watching the farmer and the animals every evening while relaxing in seasonal lawn chairs speaking with others delightful patrons as Amish buggies travel by and the stress-free slower pace of life was so peaceful. There is a playground and pool on the property with rolling hills of farm lands behind. The main property amentities(Main Bird-in Hand Family Inn) are yours to enjoy also( located just down the Road) which include:3 pools to enjoy(2 indoors&1 outdoors) with 2 lifeguards on duty. The outdoor pool has walk in entrance which was only a few inches of water and declined to 6 feet in depth which young children, toodlers and parents with babies could sit in the pool without fear of the depth, there was a hot jaccuzzi in the indoor area for adults, gameroom with ping-pong tables, fitness room,Lake &Walking trail,Tennis & basketball court, petting zoo,Fabulous high qualitiy playground, minature golf course,Coin Laudry facilities, and famous Bird-in-Hand Smorgasbord Restaurant with a special children's Noah Ark Buffet with the children's favorite food choices. The free Amish Bus tour is not to be missed and was more enjoyable than many tours I actually paid for in the past. The family VIP 2 night Package was a Fabulous Value and would suggest every patron to check the enormous savings of these packages as well as a VIP program that offers a free night stay to repeat customers. by the way, the free coffee in the morning at the motel office was outstanding and the staff was kind & gracious.

Just Came Back Home & Going Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/06
This was our first trip to Amish country Motel. We went the Memorial Day Weekend and after deliberating for over 3 weeks as to where to stay.. we settled on our first choice which was the Amish Country Motel. The Pros to this hotel were: Cost, Location, Staff & Cleanliness. Cons: Rather small rooms and no water pressure whatsoever from the shower. I literally was begging for even a drizzle to come out. It's worse for someone like me who has very long hair and has to condition your hair three times. The whole shower took over 25 mins each time I showered. The bathroom also is more apt sized. Very small. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The first time I sat on the bed it was like a rubber band and made an awful squeaky sound even when you moved your big toe. There also was no refrigerator (although you can pay extra to have one - which we did. We recommend that. We brought a case of soda and some iced tea to save money from running to the vending machine) there was also no hairdryer. There were a few hairs in the shower that at first I got annoyed, then overlooked. Overall, for a roadside motel it is a gem. After having spent three nights there..the final night we just didn't want to leave. Yes, it is not luxury, but the value and location is tops. You will LOVE sitting outside on the lawn chairs ..just feet away from Rt 340 watching the Buggys and cars go by. You also will sit and stair across to some farm animals. There is a nice, small pool and beyond that a small petting zoo that is attached to a restaurant (in walking distance to motel) When we went to check out this morning - we made a NEW reservation to CHECK IN! We are heading back to the Amish Country Motel Labor Day weekend. If you weigh the pros and cons you get what you pay for and a bit more with this motel! Also, unlike some of the bigger chains, there is NO WI-FI/Highspeed Internet. I do business on the computer so this was awful. I did prepare however and we brought a 25ft phone cord to use for dial up. You will be screaming at the screen for the incredibly slow loading of pages (slower than snail mail) but it will do. Besides, you don't want to spend every second sitting in front of the computer while on vacation.. Choose Amish Country Motel and you will be pleased if you are looking for a roadside motel with a gorgeous view and the feeling of peacefulness! PS: The other guests that were there at the time of our visit were great! We made new friends young and old. We sat on the lawn late at night and listened to stories of people who had been visiting the Amish Country Motel for decades. That was a real treat. The guests are very quiet, respectful and just wonderful. We enjoyed that part of the Motel as well! Even the sound of a couple of young children running around playing was music to our ears. This property is top notch for young, old, families and children!

like comming home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/06
we have been guests at the amish country motel many times and i must say its like commimg home. the property is located on rural road rt 340, a two lane country road. you can just sit and relax on thier beatiful front lawn and look across at the amish farm lands and passing buggy traffic that is lancaster county. the rooms at the motel are immaculate and very comfortable. the outdoor pool is so inviting on a hot summer day. as for the staff, you could not find a group of more accomodating and warm people anyware.these people have become friends of ours over the years that we keep in contact all year long.the property is very convenient to all attractions, shopping and restaurants.in fact we a going back to the amish country motel as soon as i end this review, which is now!!!

Love This Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/05
We had the most wonderful time staying at the Amish Country Motel. We stayed there August 13 & 14 with our children & their families. All had a great time. The pool was clean and inviting, and we enjoyed the beautiful views of corn fields and farms with cows, horses, pigs, goats, chickens, etc., across the road. It was fun seeing the Amish families riding along the road in front of the motel in their horse drawn buggies. My husband and I plan on going back in September.

We're going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/05
The Amish Country Motel is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We especially loved the farmland in the back of the motel. We enjoyed sitting and looking out onto the rows of corn. There's coffee ready in the morning at the office for those who need that first cup to get going. It is located convenient to all attractions. We're going back again and we highly recommend this motel.

STAY THERE EVERY YEAR
By Lynne A, 7/26/05
WE have been staying at this motel in Amish Country every year for the past 10 year. WE go in October usually. The front office staff are very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are always clean. The location , for us, on the Old Phila Pike Rt 340...is a good spot. Turn left to go to Intercourse a few miles down the road and turn right to go to the shops at BIrd In Hand. We like staying right out in the middle of Amish farms all around.
