New Year's retreat

We stayed at the Simmons Homestead Inn for New Year's weekend in 2008. The rooms are charming and all you have to do for a roaring fire is throw a match in! There is a cocktail hour each evening in front of a roaring fire in the main living room, a great way to meet your fellow house guests. Bill Putnam the innkeeper makes a hearty breakfast each morning and the coffee is ready when you awake. The best part is we can bring the dog who made a few four legged friends and quite a few two legged friends while we were there. We are going back to bring in 2011 and we can't wait. The Kennedy compound is right down the road as well as other points of interest close by. We are hoping to go the Chatham for their first night celebration which is a celebration of 20 years of first night. The rooms are clean and whatever you need they will do their best to provide. If you miss your cats there are several on the property who will be more than happy to stand in for yours.
