We have visited the Chateau six times over the last decade and have never been less than delighted with all aspects of the hotel. The real stars of the hotel are the staff- all are exceptionally friendly and polite and address you by name. Nothing is too much trouble for them-ask and its done with a smile. The rooms are beautifully cleared and the beds are some of the most comfortable I have experienced. One slight downside- the TV have not been updated to flatscreen yet and are starting to look a little outdated- but hay!, who goes to Whistler to watch TV? Children are genuinly welcomed at the Chateau- we stayed over the Easter period one year and watched in amazement as what seemed like hundreds of kids virtually destroyed one of the confrence rooms in a massive Easter Egg hunt. All had a whale of a time and the attending staff joined in enthusiasticly- top marks guys! If you are looking to stay in Whistler look no further than the Chateau- after a couple of drinks in front of the fire in the Mallard lounge, looking out over the mountain, watching the snow falling you too will be hooked by the magic of this place. Enjoy!

A magnificent hotel!
By Paul, 1/27/07
This place is one of the best! The staff treats you like royalty. The views, impeccable. The dining, great. Everything is high quality. Everything. Its relaxing, comfortable, elegant, simply a gem and I hope the Olympics don't ruin everything.

One of the best.
By Simon, 11/29/06
This hotel oozes class. It's position in the village is detached enough to have a special, private air to it, yet close enough for easy access. During the ski season the hotel is perfectly situated with the main express chairlifts for Blackcomb mountain leaving right outside the hotel. It might well be expensive, but it's still 5 out of 5 for value for my money. Only slightly more than twice the cost of a British Travel Inn with infinitely greater facilities and attention to detail and your needs.

A TOP NOTCH RESORT!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/06
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in North America. We drove up the entrance, and someone was there to open both of our car doors, and took our luggage for us. We walked towards the hotel doors and a doorman opened them for us. We had our own private check-in and private elevator to our floor. The room was lavishly appointed with a remarkable view of the Canadian Rockies. The room was so comfortable I didn't want to leave it. I lost count of the number of swimming pools and outdoor Jacuzzi's this place had. There were indoor pools, outdoor pools, you could swim from the indoor outside to the outdoor pools. One pool you could swim (underwater) and hear music plain as day. The floor we stayed on had its own lounge with treats, meals, and drinks available all day long and into the evening. At the restuarants in the hotel and in Whistler we found the cuisine superb and the wine selection unexcelled. However the real credit to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler was the service. They treated you like Royalty! If you needed something it was done immediately. They always treated you with respect. I was called "Sir", my wife was called "Mam" They worked hard to make our stay memorable and they did an impressive job! They went above and beyond our expectations and I will visit there again and highly refer the hotel to my friends and anyone who wants 5 star treatment at a luxury hotel.

Definitely recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/05
My wife and I just returned from a summer vacation in British Columbia, which included two nights at the Fairmont Hotel in Whistler. While not inexpensive, everything about the hotel is first class. The location, at the base of Blackcomb, is feet away from the slopes, yet within easy walking distance of the main town. The decor is within keeping of a typical large ski resort, and the room comfortably appointed (although the pillows were not just average). The one thing that is missing is a balcony which, in the summer time, would be a welcome addition. The hotel has three dining options, all of which are good, and offers outdoor seating (with heat lamps). The staff could not have been friendlier - something that permeates British Columbia - and was extremely helpful in recommending activities and restaurants. I would definitely stay at the Whistler Fairmont again.

can't wait to go back again
By Hui Yin, 9/8/04
Fairmont Chateau Whistler is fantastic hotel. when we just arrived, we are already impressed by the architecture of the building -- it's a chateau in fairy tale. The room is perfect. goosedown comforter with beautiful cotton comforter cover that's changed daily. the mattress is so comfortable and i had to check out the brand.

one thing worth noting is that you can swim from the indoor swimming pool to outdoor without getting out. sitting in hot outdoor jacuzzi in winter and see snow fell down at you and melt before they reach you is magical.

the location of the hotel is perfect too. ski lifts are just by the hotel back door. lots of shops and great restaurants are within walking distance. the hotel is expensive. but we can't wait to go back again.
