Would Recommend
By Patricia, 10/04/09
We stayed 3 nights. An older motel but maintained well. Adequate breakfast with plenty of room to sit and eat. We had a poolside room but the pool was being fitted with a new drain cover. We were reimbursed for the upgrade. Microwave and refrig in room. Many restaurants nearby.

We loved the Shilo Inn
By kw_lakecity, 10/03/08
We stayed 2 nights at the Shilo Inn while visiting Yosemite. The location is good, only about 15 miles from the park. The room was very clean and spacious. The beds were amazing, nice big fluffy mattresses! The breakfast was great also - there were many choices. Service was good, the price was right, we would definitely stay again.

CAUTION: DO NOT RESERVE A ROOM BY THE POOL It was so noisy! The beds were a bit hard, and it stank.

Location not great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/28/06
Upon arrival the staff couldn't find our reservation, but they were able to accomodate us anyway. The staff was a bit frosty at first, but significantly warmed up after we decided to stay a second night. The room was large with 2 queen size beds and a small kitchen with fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The hotel shows some signs of aging but seems well maintained. Breakfast was a laugh - the bagels and pastries were at least 2-days old and little else was offered. I saw some people with fruit yoghurt, but by the time we came down at 9:00am those were gone already. They do not have a dining room so you sit in the hotel lobby with your plate on your lap. They would do better to cancel breakfast altogether and give you a discount on the room rates. I would say the biggest draw back is that the hotel is 1 hour drive from the valley floor in Yosemite and that Oakhurst doesn't offer much when it comes to restaurants (mostly pizza-parlor/fast food type places). The town does offer 2 large supermarkets, a department store and several gas stations. I would stay there again if I couldn't find anything closer to Yosemite.

good location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/06
This hotel is a few miles out of Yosemite, making it a good stopping point after a day at the park. The front desk was very eager to please and there was a good restaurant within walking distance....I would stay here again.

Nice stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/06
We went Dec. 30 and 31 of '05. It was very clean, plenty of room, that's always a plus! The shower was good, not one of those overly-airy water 'saving' shower heads, thank goodness. The room had a wet bar, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, iron and board, cable TV, free WiFi! There was a continental breakfast that was adequate: some fruit, bagels, oatmeal, cold cereal, juice, milk, coffee, tea. We had a nice quiet stay on the ground floor. Would go back again! Staff was friendly and helpful. The notice at the front desk said the tap water has high levels of arsenic so it's not recommended that you drink it. There are bottles in the room for $1.50 so I recommend you bring your own bottlerd water.
