Days Inn Pinole, Pinole

First the office smells heavily of stale curry and rancid garlic - not too awful at night, but it makes their tacky continental breakfast even more tacky. The room was sort-of clean - very old bedspread and drapes that would NOT stay closed. TV remote didn't work at all, so I got a replacement (and was treated like a criminal for my trouble) that at least turned it on and off most of the time. The free high speed interenet is NOT wireless. In and out of the bathroom is a one person operation - if your spouse is near the closet, someone gets hit with a door on the way in or out. Only a very few rooms have ground level access, most are up or down stairs with no elevators. I guess at best, this might be an OK "no-tell motel" but don't take anyone there unless you're paying thenm by the hour. Actually, this is the kind of place where I'd expect them to offer me an hourly rate. AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!.
