Motel 6, Santa Barbara

Rooms are super small. REALLY SMALL! Floors get really dirty for some odd reason and you have to walk around in flip flops otherwise your feet turn black.

1) front desk people could be nicer. I was intentionally hung up on when I was making reservation-rude man- and difficult to understand young male with accent. and the older male (one of the managers?) was a total jerk!!! 2) they don't enforce non-smoking in non-smoking rooms. these rooms are always smoked in and often stink! 3) even if you stay in a non-smoking room you will be gassed out by your smoking neighbor who either smokes inside his non-smoking room or chain smokes outside your door and air conditioning unit-making the fan/heat/ac unit unable to be used-which makes for a very stale, stuffy, uncomfortable room. *******((Motel 6 should implement, post, and enforce non-smoking within 25 feet of the building)*******. and the employees should not smoke in the front office!!! 4) the bed/mattress had a large visable crater in it, very uncomfortable. time they invested in new mattresses! it was so big it was difficult to get in and out of bed. until needed changes have been made, they have lost my reoccuring business.

This was proably the worst motel/hotel I have ever stayed at! The service was lousy for starters. I had a room reserved, and when I checked in, I found that the bed was not made; all of the sheets and comforter were piled on the floor. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the room was too small for just me and one other person! The nightlife at the hotel is noisy and seems to be full of people getting drunk/stoned in the parking lot at all hours of the night. The price was way too high for the type of service I recieved.

I agree somewhat with the three reviews, but it is a Motel 6, what do you expect. I love this Motel and would stay there again. If you want luxury, stay at a four star hotel. I just needed a place to take a shower and crash at night. I was out kayaying, swimming, walking, shopping and just having a very good time with all sorts of things to do. The beach is just across the street. I walked it every morning. The shops and restaurants around the motel were very expensive, but just a short 5 minute drive pass the marina was another shopping center for average income people. McDonalds, Subway, CVS Drug Store, and a grocery store. Santa Barbara is a very expensive town and this Motel 6, for staying right on the beach, you cannot beat the price. Of course the rooms are small, but the service was great. So if you're looking for a place to just take a shower, and get a good night sleep, this place is ideal. If you're looking for maid service, coffee in your room in the morning, and those little soaps, pay the price and stay at a luxury hotel.
