Clean, quiet and friendly staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/10/11
I can't say one negative thing about this Comfort Inn. The staff was friendly even the other guest that was staying there was nice. It was quiet, the room was awesome and very clean. The coffee is so GOOD and the breakfast was even good. Just enough without over doing it and they didn't have anyone watching you like you were going to take to much like in some of the pass Inn's we have stayed in. We travel to Maggie Valley at least 3 times a year and I can tell you that once Mom and Pop motel we use to stay in is OVER. We are spoiled now and will stay here over and over again.

Worst motel stayed at in years
By Paula, 2/23/10
I arrived at 2:40pm supposely could check in at 3pm but had to wait till 3:30pm to get in room girl still not cleaned our room front desk let me go up at 3pm but lady hadnt even cleaned it. Had 3 adults and 2 kids age 14 when made reservations told them this had a room that had 2 queen beds so one person had no where to sleep so called front desk told the man not what I made reservations for he said yes it is I said not for this many people he said I can send get you a roll away bed for 10 dollars a night and I said I didnt ask for this room and I made reservations for 5 people.Anyway ceiling where the spinklers are for fires was 2 of them pulled out and had towels stffed in them ceiling had a huge crack across it went to hot tub jets dont even work in it at pool area. Needed extra towels on Saturday the 13th guy told us just call front desk we bring it to you well Sunday morning on 14th needed extra towels women at front desk said cant leave desk you will have to come and get them so when I went down to get them she had over 5 employees standing there talking to her and she looked like she had been drinking very nasty attitiude kind of throwed towels at me. Cont. breakfast there was awful if you like waffles you are ok cause thats about all they had. Ask on friday when had problems checking in to speak to manager and let them know I would like to talk to him even if it was the next day he never called room or never made the effect to come by. There was a paper in room says if not satisified with room let front desk know and we will try to make arrangements well they need to take thoses signs out cause that is false. I was told room would be 89.99 a night and was charged 99.99 a night wasnt worth it and called into cherokee to find another place but everything booked up everywhere big ski weekend that weekend. So I would say to anyone going to stay in Maggie Valley really check into this motel first not what I expected and will NEVER stay here again I would rather pay a arm and leg and stay beside the casino where service and place is better. I would rate overall this motel a one star for everything. Even the pool area smelled bad on Saturday almost made me sick just to walk into the area even my kids was complaining. So if you are trying to find a nice place to stay it wouldnt be here. The manager dont even care about his customers or he didnt this weekend.

Unsafe and unsecure !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/2/09
During our stay at this hotel, the room we were in was left UNSECURED by the maids! After returning from breakfast late in the morning, the room door was propped open with a towel and when we asked the maids who were six rooms away, they said the room was done and did not know anything. As I walked her , they all started to laugh and speak in Spanish. When asked to repeat in English she said no speak English. The agent at the desk gave all the signs that she didn't care and after 24 hrs an other girl at the desk told us the other one made no attempt to resolve the matter or call anyone of authority! The very next morning in the breakfast hall, the very same maid was speaking fluid English with a customer! I urge anyone going to Maggie Valley to join us as Americans and hard working folks to expect better. Their 100% guarantee has only got us 25% off or stay. Just another reason that shows the lack of professionalism.

Really nice place...
By HCOGMusicMan, 8/11/08
We really enjoyed our stay at Comfort Inn Maggie Valley. The hotel was very clean, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. The continental breakfast was pretty good (waffles, cereal, muffins, etc.). But, hey, it's free, so who's complaining? The only negative thing I have to say would be the loud noises from the many, many bikers in the area leaving early in the morning. But, that's not the hotel's fault!

Do not stay in room 135
By Becky Lawson, 6/2/08
Do not stay in room 135. It is next to the main road, and you can hear the road noise all night long. But that was not the big problem. I had noisy people next to me blaring the tv. And they did not turn it off. TV was on all night long. And during the day, a “do not disturb” sign was posted on their door. I told the front desk the next morning. I said move me or do something. The front desk said they would talk to them. Night 2 - no sleep. TV blaring all night long. Called the front desk as 12:30 am. They knocked, then pounded on the door so they would hear it. The tv noise went down, then quickly was loud again. Next morning, the front desk said they checked out. I told them 2 nights of non-sleep, and I wish to be compensated, they said they would. And the 3rd night, I had the noisy road in my room 135. When I checked out, they did compensate me - a whole $25 for 2 nights of non-sleep. And no manager to talk to when I said this was unacceptable. I called the main company and was told only a formal complaint would be filed, which I did. After I got home, received a company generic letter saying basically they are sorry, cannot help, independently owned, and they will forward complaint to the hotel directly. Haven’t received anything from them. Go to the next town where there is a Hampton Inn. And for me, the next night, I was in a different town at a Fairfield Inn, what a difference. Pay a little more, it is worth it.

Good, but poor room service
By Tricia, 7/25/07
The free breakfast is wonderful! The price is the best one we found. The location is perfect. It's close to the action, but yet not in the crowds. The front desk staff was very nice. The only complaint is that the whole time we were there, room service did not come in on their own. We had to ask for clean towels, etc., every evening. For the value though, we would stay again. The pool was nice also, with towels available for you there.
