Pension Accademia Villa Maravegie, Venice

The hotel is lovely, clean with helpful and pleasant staff. I especially like to relax with a drink on the swing in the garden after a day of walking and sight-seeing. Each year, the hotel seems to make an effort to improve on details, like the soap and shampoo in the rooms. My only complaint is the restrictive attitude of the concierges toward the use of the one computer in the lobby.

This was my first Venice experience and it was marvelous, for Venice itself of course, but also for this charming, intimate hotel that my husband and I long to return to. A perfect location just off the Grand Canal,but quiet and with a sense of seclusion. The hotel has Venetian charm, our room was beautifully furnished and the wonderful gardens were a delight to return to after a busy day of sightseeing. Breakfasts were delightful as was the service in all respects. We plan to return to Venice next year and are eagerly looking forward to our second stay at this very special place.

The location is the best part of this hotel. If you have never been to Venice, you will soon learn how important it is to be close to a bridge that spans the Grand Canal (there are only 3).

Right on the Grand Canal, sandwiched between two lovely flower filled gardens. Nice rooms, nice people, nice breakfast room with quality provisions. Very elegant and well maintained. Unbeatable location is Dorsoduro not far from the bridge.Restaurants in the area are some of the best in Venice. Great local foods, great local wines.
