Hotel Eiffel Rive Gauche, Paris

I've stayed here many times, and it is the only place in this price range I'd consider in Paris. It's always been family owned, and usually staffed by students from not only France, but also other parts of the world. The architecture is unique, which makes the hotel all the more interesting to look at. The location couldn't be better. In a very upscale residential neighborhood off the park at the base of the Eiffel Tower, there are wonderful small Patisseries and Boulangeries within walking distance. Also within walking distance there are (2) Supermarche's(Supermarkets) one larger then the other where you can find anything you'd want. In that same area are several walking streets of food vendors where you can buy prepared food as well as fresh foods, find fresh bakery goods, and wonderful traditional pastries. The METRO STOP for that area is just a short walk from the hotel. If you want a great experience, at a very good price, this is the spot. Happy journeys....Michael Wolf

We had a great experience here in late October 2004. The people at the front desk were very helpful and spoke very good English. The room was small (like most Paris hotels) but the bathroom appeared to be newly remodeled - nice fixtures, etc. The location is good, and it is on a quiet street. A bakery, grocery store, cafe, and cheese store are all very close, and we took full advantage.

The hotel was alright, location was excellent, reception weren't helpful. In fact, we were OVERCHARGED and then they couldn't reimburse us b/c the owner wasn't around. We had to leave or we'd miss our flight so when i returned home i e-mailed them with all the details. They said the owner would get back to me. This never happened. I tried numerous times - no reimbursement.

My husband and I stayed here 6 years ago and loved it. It has the true Parisian feel to it. The price was right. The breakfast that is an optional ad-on, don't do it, it was horrible. Great room though!!!!
