Hotel le Pradey du Louvre, Paris

Great location, but that's about it. Rooms are very small. The double bed (mattress only, no box spring) was probably 20 years old as were the rest of the sparse furnishings. The TV was 17" and received no more than 5 stations - 1 in English, the rest in French. Decor was shabby - without the chic. Included in our 4th floor room was a broken free-standing mirror. The "shower" was a raised 3 ft tub with a shower head attachment connected to a flexible neck near the spout - no curtain or door. Not enough room to stand. You have to sit on the tub floor to shower. Coffee is available in the hotel lobby only from 7:00 AM until late afternoon. No bar, no restaurant, no iron, no air conditioning, no screens on the windows. Safe lock was broken. No wake-up calls - we requested several, but received none. Our cash was stolen from a travel bag in our room on the third day. The front desk clerk offered no apology and indicated that there was nothing he could do about it. We opted not to spend precious vacation time by involving the police. We paid ~200E per night for 4 nights and were double billed. However, it was quickly resolved after we returned home. There are too many quaint, reasonably priced places to stay in Paris to ever return to this hotel.

Could not have selected a better location in Paris. Very close to Louvre and Rue de Rivoli. Close to Metro. Walking distance to all attractions. Hotel staff was friendly. Rooms were quaint, but just right. Recommend this hotel highly.

This place was small, but the service and friendliness of the staff made up for it. It is close to a main street, so the night traffic was noisy (nothing a couple glasses of wine can't take care of). The hotel was very close to the Louvre and Palais Royale--walking distance to Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame. Good location for all site seeing. It was a good value. I would go back.

This hotel gave us the royal treatment when in Paris. We stayed with them from March 1st to March 6, 2005 and their service was always with a smile, a polite and kind word, they helped us with tours, metro, all kinds of tickets. Excellent service, great manager, great rates, we recommend this hotel very highly to all Americans or Europeans travelling to Paris.
