Hotel Pierre, Florence

We stayed at Pierre dec 2008. It is a nice hotel, excellent location. deluxe rooms are much nicer than standart rooms. Employees are nice.

The Hotel Pierre is in a perfect location for exploring the city, centrally located between the Duomo and the Uffizi Galleries and a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio. Several excellent restaurants nearby. We had a triple deluxe room for my wife and me and our 13 year old daughter. The room was perfectly adequate for our needs with an especially large bathroom. The staff was superb, friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast buffet was included. The only downside was the nightly noise of revelers, especially on Saturday nights, and the early morning street cleaners and delivery vehicles. A minor cost of the center city location.

Perfectly located for all of the key sites in Florence, you can't ask for a better place to stay which let's you see it all by foot than the Pierre. We honeymooned in Italy and stayed at the Pierre for 2 nights. Everyone on the staff, from concierge to chambermaids were friendly, courteous, helpful and made us feel quite at home. Daily breakfast was not any different from many other European hotels but all food was served at appropriate temperatures, caffe each morning was excellent and all foods were fresh. Our concierge helpewd us secure advance tickets to the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizzi Gallery, showed us short cuts for walking around the city and provided helpful hints on places to eat. While situated "off the beaten path" the Pierre is quite close to a few restuarants offering al fresco dining into the night so be prepared for some street noise. The room was comfortable although we had some challenges figuring out the air conditioning. We found it odd that our room had two double beds which we pushed together, so be sure to be clear when inquiring as to your choice of rooms and bed expectations. All in all we had a pleasant experience at the Pierre; we will definitely return to the Pierre when our travel plans bring us back to Florence.

Pierre Hotel was our first stop in Italy. Wow! We had a very hard time navigating the one way streets to drive up to the hotel, but it was all worth it! Once we arrive, hotel staff parked the car and we did not need it again until we departed (so sorry we had to!). All the staff was polite, helpful, and very patient decifering our English! I enjoyed breakfast every morning with wonderful food and service. We went on to stay in Padova, Venice, Rimini, and Rome. I feel the Pierre Hotel in Florence was the most beautiful place we stayed. It will forever be my favorite place it Italy!
