Lexington Historic Cary House Hotel, Placerville

I had heard about the Cary House on the Travel Channel's Haunted Travels, and I must say that this truely is a haunted hotel! The atmosphere upon entry takes you back in time. Furnished with antiques and some modern in the rooms, gives one the feeling of both old and new. We did have have a ghostly encounter, but nothing alarming....just friendly and mischievious. . I liked the fact that pricewise fit perfectly in our budget and was actually cheaper than the Best Western just up the road. Breakfast was continental, but served more than just muffins and pastries. I didn't like the parking, which must be done in a lot behind another building, but all in all, I'd come back again and again!
