We go back at least once a year and have sent several friends and now they go back about once every year
By Twila, 07/30/07
It is peaceful and quite and the restaurant is outstanding. The rooms are clean. The area is great. We have taken family and friends and they all love it as much as we do. We take a drive up if we are in the Fresno area around dinner just to have dinner.

Pure Heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/06
We were so pleasantly suprised when we arrived to find such a beautiful, romantic spot. This is an old motel style Inn with about 25 rooms, a pool and hot tub, beautiful gardens and amazing restaurant. Our room was small, but comfortable and very clean and we loved the balcony that looked into the forest. The staff was very nice and happy to tell us about the "must sees" in Yosemite. I felt like we had stumbled on a secret place and cannot wait to return.

Great way to start a Yosemite Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
This gem of a lodge is a perfect spot to stop and refresh if you're driving to Yosemite from L.A. or environs. It is just a few miles from the South Entrance, and has a fine dining room for dinner. The accomodations are very comfortable, and the staff really makes you feel welcome. Kids love the train which is adjacent to the lodge, and there is also a great nature trail through the forest. Only negatives are the non-airconditioned rooms in the summer. Rates are still reasonable for what they offer.

A little piece of heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/05
The Narrow Gauge Inn is quaint, beautifully decorated, nestled amidst pine trees, birds, squirrels and deer. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable. The restaurant serves the best food, the staff is very friendly, the owner even comes out to greet you! We go every year and love it! Carmela & Yervant

not a bed and breakfast, but great locale
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/05
from the location & description, i expected a very nice B & B. what it turned out to be was a great locale in the mountains, with views of the forest, but not a bed and breakfast. the rooms are 1960's typical rooms. rustic, queen beds, small, very tiny shower and few with airconditioning. the price is very reasonable, the breakfast is continental with little option. the south end of the park is a few miles away, but this is an hour from the floor of the valley. the restaurant does do an excellant job with dinner. it does make up for the lack in the rooms. also, because of the decade of building, the walls are typically thin - if there is any romance in the air, everyone within 2 doors knows. I also know who snores.
