Hickory Ridge Marriott Conference Center, Lisle

the bellhop was rude. the parking was bad. you didn't get alot of channels on the tv. the internet wouldn't work. breakfest was last and it was cold. the bed was wet. black mold falling from the ceiling. the staff was rude. the lunch and dinner was closed. the bathroom was dirty. i wouldn't stay here again.

I booked a room for my three children and self, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told there were no more double rooms. I was told, I could call the company I booked the room from to see about another hotel, which it was a busy weekend. So, I had to stay in a single room, (which are not very big)with three children. The pillows smelled like mildew, which I ask for new pillows, and those also smelled of mildew. The bathroom had a funny smell, not so clean. Asked for clean sheets, but didnot get them. Not a pleasant experience at all.

Rooms a bit smaller, but clean and comfortable...Breakfast buffet was very good..We stated for a few days (business) I believe all in our group agreed that we'll be back...Lounge area was a nice place to relax and service & employees were very helpful and pleasant. In all we enjoyed our stay away from home.

The buffet meals are very good, with fabulous service. Plus, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Although my room was small, it was comfortable. I think it was a very good value for the price.

The wedding I attended had special rates at the Hickory Ridge Marriott. I don't know how discounted the rates were compared to regular price. We stayed two nights and I was very impressed with just about everything this hotel had to offer. Pros: * Great hot / cold food breakfast buffet included in room price. It's not your typical continental breakfast (there's even an omelette bar). * Nice fitness area, with free weights, machines, bikes, tread mills, multiple tvs, racquetball court, and a nice little pool. Basketball court outside and walking path. * The service was excellent! Typically, I run into a few bad employees in just about any establishment. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Cons: * The hotel was very large and the layout was confusing. Not a terrible thing, but I took a few wrong turns from time-to-time. * Wedding reception music (not from the wedding that I attended) played behind the hotel late Friday night and Saturday night. Fortunately, it stopped around 11:00 or 11:30pm. * We had two beds in our room, one was comfortable, the other was not. * Hotel seems to be older, but they keep it up pretty well. * Ice machine was on the floor above us. * Internet Connection cost extra (would've been nice to have free wireless). Overall, this was a great stay. A few small changes, and this hotel would receive a 5 star rating. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.
