Super 8 Marion, Marion

I stayed at this hotel last night. The price was exceptional. I usually stay in a little more upscale hotel when traveling for vacation, but I was in town for business just for the night and didn't want to spend extra money since I was only sleeping there. I found the hotel to be very clean. The staff went out of their way to be courteous (I dealt with 3 different staff members and all of them provided excellent service). The breakfast choices were waffles, fruit, bagels, muffins, cereal, juices, milk, and coffee. The frontage road is a little difficult if you aren't looking for it, but I had forgotten to ask for directions when I made my reservation. I am sure I would have been told about it if I had asked for them. The bed was comfortable. The in-room microwave, mini fridge and safe were nice additions. There was also an ironing board, iron, and hair dryer. I will return if I am in town on business again.

Very clean, bed was very comfortable (Got a King). Staff was so friendly and the breakfast was great. Hot waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, fruit. TV worked great, free wifi, HBO. Better than most hotels I have stayed at in a long time.

It was cheap, hard to figure out frontage road access (I missed it the first time), and half clean (Bed & Shower Clean, but the Carpets were horrible). Someone on the floor had a dog, which did wake me once, but other than that for $58 Bucks it worked.

All I needed was a place to rest and sleep after driving from Chicago and walking all day long around the SIU Campus. This weekend all the hotels and Motels were all booked for the weekends school activities. I expected the worse, but on the contrary, this place was clean, I felt safe, staff was courteous, it was nice and quiet perfect for sleeping. There was a weird odor in the hallway, but I did not smell it once I was in the room.

The place was wonderful. Southern Illinois has so much to choose from. Especially in that area. We went to the Mall and Movie's one night. Then we heard of a place just 15 miles away to eat called Walker's Bar & Grill in Zeigler!! Great Great Food!!!If you come to Southern Illinois you should really look up that place!!! Marion was great and the hotel stay was wonderful!
