disgusting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/09
From the minute I walked in the woman behind the front desk was extremely rude. She kept looking at me like I was trash. As soon as I got out of the elevator to head to my room I could smell an extremely foul odor. When I got to my room I found a couple of holes in the walls and the room too had a strange smell to it, almost like dirty towels, thank god I pack my own towel when I travel. Dont come stay here, the only thing nice about this place was the guy that gave me a ride on the shuttle over here.

Good stopover
By Janet, 4/21/07
Basically a good place to do an overnighter in or out of Honolulu airport...and that's about it. The rooms were circa 70's, but clean. The dinner buffet is a great deal with tons of fresh crab, shrimp, Prime rib, ect. Shuttle service was on time with a courteous driver.

The smell, the hidden costs.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/06
When we arrived, we noticed that to park in the hotel garage (which is literally the only place to park) COSTS AN EXTRA 12 DOLLARS PER NIGHT!) I couldn't believe this. I mean the hotel is on a major highway/ interstate so you have no other choice. Luckily for us, my fiance's boss was the one picking up the tab for us, but I still found it very irritating and just plain wrong. The rooms not only smell musty but we were on what was supposed to be a non-smoking floor and the smell of cigarette smoke poured in throught the vents. Now, I recently quit smoking so I'm sure I was especially sensitive to this but my fiance definitely smelled it, too, because he accused me of smoking in the room while he was gone. Also, there were cigarette ashes on the hallway floor to reassure me that the smell was not my imagination. Apparently, the entire hotel will become a "non-smoking environment" sometime next year after some renovations are complete. There is a pool but it has a great view of the highway and you can barely hear what anyone might be saying to you over the traffic. Like all pools in Hawaii, it closes at 6pm anyway. The lounge is open only friday through monday and is actually not bad. You can order cocktails and take them to an outdoor picnic- type area. The prices are no higher than you'd expect and the service wasn't bad. The only problem was that it was only open the first night we got there and she closed early. The location is not bad. Don't get me wrong- it's nothing but ugly- but there are a few places to eat nearby: a Wendy's, Subway, some Chinese food. There's also a convenience store very close that has some snacks and drinks but don't take your kids in there because when you get inside, it doubles as an "adult" store- movies, novelties, everything. If being close to the airport is your only concern, then this place is for you. Personally, I won't stay here again just because of the dishonest parking fees.

Will never go back
By Robley, 10/1/06
The room was filthy, dead bugs not removed by room service, room had an old odor, customer service rude. If you want the truth this hotel brings you in on false advertisement. Not worth the price I paid. Overall this hotel should be remodeled or upgraded for the price. The bed we slept in was hard like a rock, great for someone that has back problems. I wished I reviewed other hotel reviews before I booked this room.

great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/06
it was great as a military family arriving to the island and not really knowing one end of honolulu to the other, close to the pearl harbor base without breaking the bank on taxi fares. great restaurant loved the different themes and TLA vouchers that was offered.

Don't stay here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/06
This place is just awful. Having spent several nights in good airport hotels, the pictures, rating and closeness to the airport looked good. The pictures fail to show the H-1 highway directly across the street. The hotel rooms are drab, dark, poorly decorated and noisy. The bed was of poor quality and I could feel the springs through the sheets. Internet is available, but only in the lobby, with no desk facilities. To distract us, we ordered a movie, but the TV had a terrible green tint. We cancelled our second night and went downtown. One good point--driven to drink, the bar was friendly. This hotel should not bear the Best Western logo.

Pleasant surprise
By xyz, 12/20/05
although I would not want to spend a week vacation at this location, if you need a one nighter to catch a cruise or to catch a flight back it is GREAT...the shutttle is well worth the stay. They will also hold your luggage if you can't check in yet, or if you have to check out and have plenty of time on your hands. the bus stop is right accross the street and you can go anywhere..Pearl Harbor, shopping, waikii, diamond head etc. The staff was very nice and courteous.(not just the front staff) There is a bar downstairs to catch a drink after that long flight in. We did not eat there , but it looked clean and the staff seemed nice. There is was looks like a really tacky fast food place next door that actually had pretty good food. We took ours back to the hotel and ate it by the pool. Yes it is noisy but it is right by the airport so you can't expect a hillside retreat atmosphere.

Hope I don't have to stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/05
I liked the value and location of this airport facility. The staff was well trained in customer service. However, there was was a terribly long wait/line to check in at the front desk. The hotel decpr is quite dated, poorly cleaned and generally "beat up." There was no free internet service in the room, despite promotions saying there was. One had to sit in an uncomfortable lobby to access wireless internet. The only redeeming aspect is that for a Honolulu hotel, the price was quite reasonable. So I guess you always do get what you pay for!
