Make sure you go in the summer...

I was incredibly dissappointed by my stay in The Rushes. I came during springbreak which gave absolutely nothing to do. The customer service was less then average and I often received snotty attitudes upon asking about restaurants, or outdoor activities. Similary, my internet would not work for 2 days. This was suppose to be a resort full of activities, but everything was closed and all a family could do was walk. I can walk at home. All in all, I would say if your a frequent traveler go somewhere better with more recent amenities( the resort is 25 years old with no refurnishing) and more activities.

Great accommodations, spacious, secluded setting with nice hiking/skiing trails. Nice, comfortable guest lounge. Having a single-car garage for each unit is great, and having fresh firewood available for the "real thing" fireplace is extra special. We've stayed here twice and don't have anything negative to say about the resort. Sure, the absence of an on-site eating place is a deficiency, but plenty of other places to eat are within a half-hour's drive. We're nature-lovers and we found plenty of things to do--great x-country skiing in winter (fine grooming at The Rushes on their trails) and woods walking in other times. The upstairs master bedroom is luxurious, including a really big hot tub. The main floor of each unit is spacious and the cathedral ceiling rock fireplace is really special. Views to the outdoors, whether into the woods or out onto Kangaroo Lake give you the feeling of being outdoors all the time. The furnishing are extra nice also, and the units are fully equipped.
