Imperial Inn, Medicine Hat

Absolutely love the price, the location, the pools, and the steam room.

We stay here all the time when we are in Medicine Hat. Our daughter lives there but doesn't have room for all of us when we visit so we routinely stay here. We love the hot tub and steam room and the fact that it is open to 2 am. It also has a nice pool - we don't use it much because we like the hot tub (they have two - one for families and one for adults) Rates are reasonable and the rooms are always clean. Breakfast is not the biggest menu but its definitely edible - toast, fruit, etc. If you aren't happy with that Tim Horten's is right across the street. Also two of the best restaurants in town are right next door. Beefeater's on one side and D'Carlos on the other, so with Tim Horten's across the street how can you go wrong? If you are looking for the Ritz then this isn't it but if you want a nice clean hotel with reasonable rates you are in the right place.

This was such a noisy motel. People were yelling in the parking lot until 3 am. There is another motel next door with a lot of action going on, as well. There is a busy road nearby. The rug had burn marks and the room was quite worn. The person at the front desk was not very friendly. If we would ask a specific question, she would tell us but she didn't volunteer any information. We had dogs with us and we had to walk around to the other side of the building to find any grass. We won't consider going back to this place. The only time it was quiet was between 3 am - 5 am.

We needed a clean and neat place to stay for 1 night on our way to Calgary and this fit the bill with reasonable rates and a nice breakfast. We used the internet access and there was a liquor store nearby. We would definitely return to this motel.
