Rating Needs To Be Changed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/06
Blue Bay Village or Club Los Angeles Locos has got to be the most over-rated resort in Mexico. There is nothing good about this resort. The rooms are bad and the bathrooms are worse. There are no amenities what so ever. No blow dryer, no coffee, no iron, no extra pillow, no remote for the TV, not even the room safe is included. The building is falling apart one piece at a time. You have more exposed wiring here then the local electronics store. They barely speak English and if you have a problem they don't speak it at all. How convenient! The food is as pedestrian as it gets. The bird crap on the tables adds that special je-ne-sais-quoi! If youre a fussy eater you will have trouble finding what to eat here. If you are picky about food stay the heck away from this place. I am not picky at all and I had trouble coming up with a decent meal. The entertainment is good for kids. The pool deck is slippery, tiles are missing in the pool so cut toes are common, the pool is unnecessarily cold, the pool bar closes early, its a pain to get a reservation at the a la carte restaurant. There is no lunch service at noon, snacks are deplorable, the air conditioning is flaky, the noise from the speakers around the pool would worry your audiologist and the restaurant serves leftovers from the buffet, should I go on? I think you get the picture. The resort is tailored to, sold to and built around the needs and tastes of the local Mexican tourist. It is not in any way, shape or form made for North Americans. To answer the question that Yahoo says should be answered in a review: How was the service? Answer: Non-existent. Was your room comfortable? Answer: No. Was the location convenient? Answer: 50 bucks to the nearest town, convenient? I dont think so! At the start of the review I said that there is nothing good about this resort and that is true except for the beach, which is quite nice. However the beach does not belong to the resort. Lets give credit where credit is due, when it comes to the beach only Mother Nature can take credit for that. To sum it up I would never go back to Blue Bay Village or Blue Bay Club or whatever they are calling it this week. It is grossly over-rated and in need of serious renovation.

Now everyone I tell wants to go there!
By Veronica, 1/18/06
It was the best part of our trip! A secluded beach resort with pools, bars, horse back riding, small boat trip and all the food and drinks (alcohol included) you want. If you're expecting to go to a hotel such as what you'll find in Las Vegas then this isn't the place for you. This is a Mexican style resort with the old world look but clean and fun. They have activities all day and a show at night. The food was great and they had several places to eat, so you can find what you like. The service was great and very helpful. The night life is only as fun as the people you take, since no one comes from the outside. It is very secluded, no cell phone reception at all. It is a half hour drive from Manzanillo, but the trip is well worth it.

Very Ho-Hum
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/05
My family and I did not like Blue Bay Club Los Angeles Locos. Every thing about it was a bit off. The rooms were 2nd class and a bit off, too dirty too worn. The food was 2nd class and a bit off, too much repetition and no real inspiration in the kitchen. All of it was cheap food. 2nd class cuts of meat, fish and poultry. If your looking for chicken breast on the buffet table, you've come to the wrong place, you can just imagine what the meat was like. The cooking style did nothing to improve any of the food. Seems like they hired an executive chef based on how cheap a menu he or she could come up with. Hardly the stuff of greatest vaction lore. The activities and entertainment were a bit off, nothing to write home about at all. I would not recommend this place. Far from town, nothing to do, second class food, lame disco, no night life and really no day life either. Very Ho-Hum to the point of being boring.
