Our favorite place in Humboldt
By ben bachelder, 3/17/10
The owners were really nice, prices were great for the cabin we stayed in, and the forest is beautiful! We've been twice now and will definitely be back.

Best spot on Patrick's Point Drive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/09
We just spent nine nights here and had the best RV spot in the place, #20. They don't put anyone in #21 so you have a large, private space with the fire ring nestled among redwoods (if you can get wood to burn here). It's close to the 'town' and beach and very pretty. We would come back for a couple of days on the way to someplace else, but because there is not much to do here, probably not again as a destination.

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/08
Absolutely one of our best camping experiences ever! Beautiful scenery, great weather, friendly staff. Facilities very clean. Staff very helpful in getting us a space on very short notice. Nothing but high marks from us!! Hated to leave. We are looking forward to our next visit (maybe a cabin this time.)

Worst place ever!!
By sevenwillow, 8/6/08
We stayed in the RV section of the Emerald Forest on a weekend vacation. We were placed right next to the showers. Unfortunately, we had people walking through our campsite (if you can call it that) and waiting outside of the showers while we tried to "pretend" they were not there. The RV sites are cramped. It is great if you like the city but our idea of vacationing must be a whole different idea from what we saw there. We had no table on our site (it was across the way in someone else's campsite), had a fire ring at the street instead of in a more accessible and private area. The ads promise a BBQ, which did not exist so the manager brought us metal fire ring from another camp that had a grill on it. The next morning another manager(owner/manager? not sure which) was eyeing the set up and wasn't very nice about us having TWO fire rings. The whole experience was so awful we could only stomach one night there. We will NEVER go back to this place and will make it a point to tell others not to waste their money staying here. I would rate this less than one star if I could!!!

Cozy cabin
By karen, 8/18/06
We stayed in cabin 26, which is newer than some. The interior looks EXACTLY like the photos on the hotel's website for the "forest cabins". The cabin was definitely small but the bed was comfy and neatly made, and the location near redwoods park was great. The bathroom and "kitchenette" have an interesting layout. The bathroom has a toilet and shower, while the "kitchenette" is the sink and microwave. It's fine for breakfast but don't plan on cooking anything in these little cabins. And I don't think I'd try to fit a third person in, even a child. ALSO, this place is rather no-frills, and they don't make your bed, although they change towels and empty trash daily. Wi-fi too. Overall a good experience!

Can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/14/05
I would really recommend reservations as this is one of the nicest places to stay on Patricks Point Drive. The cabins were very comfortable. They have laundry facilities, maid service & a general store. The two cabins that we had both had kitchens and deck areas. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we plan on going back. We ate most meals at the wharf in Trinidad which is just a short drive from the Emerald Forest and that was very enjoyable as well.
